That moment when you turn a corner and a cathedral stops you in your tracks. 🇪🇸

Six weeks in and I’m finally taking the steps to make this official! Next week I head to get my empadronamiento (padrón), which is essentially registering your address with your local municipality.

If you’re planning a move to Spain, this little piece of paper is everything. It’s required for:
→ Your TIE (foreigner identity card)
→ Proving residency for just about anything official

Pro tip: don’t wait on a traditional Spanish bank account to sort your finances, a European digital bank like N26 can bridge the gap early on. I already had mine set up before leaving the US, which meant I could actually pay rent, set up utilities, and other necessities from day one. 💡

It sounds simple but finding the right office, booking the appointment, and knowing exactly what documents to bring is its own mini adventure…classic Spain bureaucracy. 😅

After weeks of apartment hunting, viewings, rejections, and finally landing a place, walking these streets with purpose feels different. This isn’t just exploring anymore. This is home.

Two weeks. 🇪🇸

I know, I know...I’ve been quiet since January. 🫣 Life had other plans.

In the last six weeks, I lost my father, received my Spanish visa approval the very next day, and somehow kept moving through the grief and the paperwork and the packing and the planning all at once. It has been, without question, the hardest stretch of my life.

But here’s what I keep coming back to: there’s a concept called post-traumatic growth. The idea that our deepest pain isn’t just something we survive, it’s something that actually reshapes us into a more expansive version of ourselves. The research on it is real. The lived experience of it? Even more so.

I think life had a plan I couldn’t see yet. I got the call to say goodbye to my father. And the very next morning, I got the nudge...the unmistakable, undeniable nudge...that it was okay to go. That this next chapter had been waiting for me all along. 🥹

If you’re in your own messy middle right now, that place where everything is uncertain and nothing feels graceful, I want you to know: this is not the part where you’re failing. This is the part where you’re being forged.

The view from the other side is worth it. And in two weeks, I’ll be watching the Mediterranean from mine. 🌊

Costa del Sol, here I come.

The world feels heavy.
A lot of us are quietly asking:

Am I doing enough?
Am I helping the right way?
Is it wrong to step back and take care of myself?

Here’s what I believe:
There is no single “correct” way to care.
There is no one-size-fits-all version of activism, healing, or contribution.

Some people are loud.
Some people are quiet.
Some people are just surviving.

All of it is human. All of it counts.

And here’s what else I know:

You cannot pour from an empty cup.
You cannot heal a broken world by becoming hardened, cruel, or disconnected yourself.

Rest isn’t betrayal. Softness isn’t weakness. Taking care of yourself isn’t opting out.

The world needs you whole, not shattered.

16 weeks into visa waiting, and I’m back scrolling through photos from my September scouting trip. Hopefully, I’ll see you soon, Málaga.

When I moved to Florida 11 years ago, I had no idea these faces would become home.

Or that friendships like this would shape such a meaningful chapter of my life.

These women have been the laughter, the support, the long talks, the quiet check-ins, and the ones who celebrated the wins and sat with me through the messy middle. The kind of people who don’t just witness your growth, but become woven into it.

I wear many hats: life coach, photographer, dreamer. But right now, I’m just someone deeply grateful for the people who made this season what it was. 🩷🙏🏻

I don’t know exactly when I’ll leave for Spain (C’mon, consulate...let me know, already! Lol) or what it will bring, but I do know THIS chapter mattered. And I’m soaking it in while I’m still here. 🥹❤️

A new year doesn’t need a new version of you. It just needs more trust in the one you already are.

I spent too much of 2025 living in scarcity…comparing, overthinking, waiting for the “right” time. 2026? We’re done with that.
