☀️ Danitacom Summer Picks

Before heading off for the summer, we asked the Danitacom team to share their favorite cultural recommendations.

Throughout August, we'll ask one question each week and share two answers: one Danish and one Italian.

📚 What book have you packed for your summer holidays?
The team's favorites are:

🇩🇰 The Man Who Wanted to Be Guilty (Manden der ville være skyldig) by Henrik Stangerup
A modern Danish classic that explores freedom, personal responsibility and the relationship between the individual and society. Set in Denmark, it offers a thought-provoking glimpse into the country's culture and values.

🇮🇹 The Eight Mountains (Le Otto Montagne) by Paolo Cognetti
Winner of the prestigious Strega Prize in 2017, this novel tells the story of an enduring friendship set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Italian Alps. It's a moving journey of self-discovery where nature is as much a protagonist as the characters themselves.

The first book has been translated into Italian and the second into English, making them easy companions for your summer holidays.

Sometimes, to discover another country, you can simply start by reading. Through stories, places and characters, books offer a glimpse into the other culture.

How can you find the right products for your shelves?

The search for the most suitable products requires research into consumer tastes, an eye for what appeals to the market, and a careful study of trends and prices. But above all, it requires building relationships with the people behind them.

📍 That's what Marca by BolognaFiere is all about.

Every January, Bologna becomes the meeting point for retailers, distributors, and business owners looking for high-quality products, reliable suppliers, and long-term business partnerships.
With more than 1,500 exhibitors across 20 product categories of food, non-food, fresh, and tech, Marca brings together the very best of Italian private label under one roof.

As part of the Scandinavian delegation organised by Danitacom, selected buyers will benefit from a personalised programme that includes the International Buyer Preview, tailored B2B meetings, accommodation, and dedicated support throughout the mission. This way, all the energies can be focused entirely on growing the product portfolio.

If you're looking for new suppliers, fresh ideas, and valuable connections for the Scandinavian market, this is an opportunity you won't want to miss.

☀️ Danitacom Summer Picks

Before heading off for the summer, we asked the Danitacom team to share their favorite cultural recommendations.

Throughout August, we'll ask one question each week and share two answers: one Danish and one Italian.

🎵 What are you listening to this summer?

The team's favourites are:
🇩🇰 Tobias Rahim – Stor Mand
One of Denmark's biggest contemporary pop artists, Tobias Rahim has dominated the Danish charts in recent years. Stor Mand became a record-breaking streaming hit and is the kind of energetic song that makes you want to sing along... even if you don't speak Danish.

🇮🇹 Ghali – Good Vibes
An Italian rapper of Tunisian heritage, Ghali has become one of the most influential voices in contemporary Italian music. Blending different musical styles with thoughtful lyrics, his songs have connected with an entire generation.

Whether you're updating your summer playlist or simply curious to discover new music from Denmark and Italy, we hope these recommendations inspire you.

Who knows? They might even help break the ice at your next international B2B meeting!

✨ Some places are best discovered through their flavors. Others through the stories of the people who bring them to life.

Last night, at the Residence of the Italian Ambassador in Copenhagen, our event "From Abruzzo with Taste" brought both aspects together.
The idea was to immerse Danish agri-food and wine professionals, alongside journalists and content creators, into the atmosphere of one of Italy’s most authentic regions.

From the very first welcome to the final toast, every detail was designed to offer guests a real journey through and its landscapes and craftsmanship.

The evening opened with a conference introducing Abruzzo to the Scandinavian audience. Speakers, including Danitacom's Managing Director, representatives of Confederazione AEPI and Regione Abruzzo, and the Italian Ambassador to Denmark, Giuliana del Papa, shared their perspectives on the opportunities for strengthening Italian-Danish business relations.

After introducing the region and its unique identity to the Scandinavian audience, the networking dinner brought those stories to life.
Truffles, the traditional pallotte cacio e uovo, cheese, cured meats, PDO L'Aquila saffron, and ventricina meatballs became the perfect bridge between guests, turning shared flavours into informal conversations about culinary traditions, cultural habits, and the region itself. As a result, conversations naturally evolved into new connections.

💡 Promoting a territory means creating experiences that make its identity tangible. It's about giving people the chance to be taken to a place through the stories, traditions, and encounters that define it.
Only through an authentic experience can they develop a genuine connection with the territory and become its ambassadors.

📖 After 2 years of work, what have we learned about sustainability in the creative industries?

As Artforward comes to its natural conclusion, we decided that, to tie things up, the final word belongs to our students.

Through drawings, notes, reflections, and personal quotes collected during the Green Academy in Copenhagen, they told us what remained after this journey. Not theoretical definitions learned from a textbook or explanations provided by an expert, but the understanding they shaped through direct experience, dialogue, and encounters with peers, mentors, artists, designers, and entrepreneurs.

Our final project output, The , has been built entirely around the students' own voices.
Reading their diaries, seven recurring themes naturally emerged:

♻️ Circularity: finding always new reasons for waste not to become waste
🧱 Resources: acknowledging that materials are active participants in the creative process
🛠️ Process: making mistakes, simplifying, collaborating, moving beyond the ego, embracing uncertainty as drivers of innovation
✨Authenticity: recognizing that when art carries the signs of time, use, and material truth, it becomes more deeply connected to reality
🏙️ Community & Space: an object needs to be loved by the society that finds a purpose for it
🤝 Responsibility: artists have the duty to consider the potential consequences of their work
🎨 Designing the Future: communication, technical expertise, and a sense of responsibility as essential qualities for tomorrow's creative professionals.

This is a great achievement of the project: witnessing young artists, designers and architects move from receiving knowledge to creating it, transforming observations into critical thinking and personal visions for the future.

Thank you to all the students who shared their thoughts, to Tap'Art bordeaux and Liceo Artistico Chierici 's teachers who accompanied them throughout this journey, and to every company that opened their doors and inspired them.

This booklet is, above all, yours. 💚

The monthly update on business, administration, and market opportunities in Denmark is out!

This , we offer a practical guide to navigating the Danish holiday system.

At first glance, annual leave in Denmark seems straightforward: 25 days per year. In reality, the system is much more nuanced.

The Danish Holiday Act (Ferieloven) distinguishes between:
✔️ the holiday accrual year and the leave-taking period;
✔️ different holiday pay schemes for white-collar and blue-collar employees;
✔️ the main holiday period and the remaining holiday entitlement.

Unlike many other European countries, Denmark follows a concurrent holiday accrual system, allowing employees to use holiday as they earn it, while also imposing specific rules on how annual leave must be planned and taken.

For employers, HR professionals, and international businesses operating in Denmark, understanding these rules is essential to ensure compliance and avoid costly mistakes.

In our latest article, we explain the key principles of the Danish holiday system and the practical aspects every employer should know.
