THIS. RIGHT. HERE. 🥹❤️

This is why I LOVE what I do sooooo much!!!

Extended family sessions have my whole heart!! 🥰

The grandparents, the grown-up kids, the grandbabies, ALL the generations together in one place. The laughter, the chaos, the hugs, the little ones being their wild and wonderful selves. I mean, COME ON!! How incredibly special is this?! 😭❤️

And here's the thing...

We don't get this time back.

Those little boys won't always be little. Families grow, life changes, and the people we love won't always be standing right beside us.

And THAT is why these photos matter so, SO much.

I've always said that photographs are one of the very few things in life that actually APPRECIATE in value over time. And I believe that with my whole heart.

Because 10, 20, 30 years from now, nobody is going to remember what you spent on your family photos. But they'll remember how Grandpa laughed, how Grandma wrapped her arms around everyone, how tiny the kids were, and what it felt like to all be together. 🥹

One day, these photographs will be absolutely PRICELESS.

And THIS is why we do it, friends!! ❤️

So please, get the whole family together. Get in the photos. Hug each other. Laugh until your cheeks hurt. Don't wait for the perfect time, the perfect outfits, or the perfect anything.

THIS is the good stuff. And it deserves to be remembered. 🫶

Connection over perfection. Every. Freakin'. Time. 🤍

This little mantra of mine feels especially meaningful on one of the most important days of your life: your wedding day 💍

Stiff poses and forced smiles? Absolutely NOT my M.O. And frankly? Unacceptable!

I want the wild laughter, the stolen kisses, the windblown hair, the can't-keep-your-hands-off-each-other kind of love. You know... the real stuff!

And these two? They brought their adventurous spirits, their undeniable chemistry, and every ounce of their unapologetic love for one another.

We spent the most incredible 15 minutes not just braving a windswept thunderstorm on the edge of the world, but dancing right in the middle of it 🥹

I have never seen lightning light up the Victoria sky quite like it did that evening.. and somehow, it felt like the most fitting way to celebrate the beginning of forever for these two beautiful humans⚡

And THAT is the kind of magic I live for 💕

The wildly in-love, the beautifully unfiltered, the adventurous, up-for-anything souls who aren't afraid to let go, lean in, and just BE together.

You are my people.

I love autumn.

Not just for the colours, or the way summer seems to cling to it for just a little while longer. Some days still feel warm enough for a T-shirt and shorts, while others finally give you permission to wrap yourself in a scarf.

I love the pumpkin spice lattes too. And yes, they are actually freaking phenomenal, not just a seasonal gimmick 🎃

I love Halloween, pumpkins, crisp mornings, golden evenings, and all the little rituals that make fall feel so much like coming home.

But I think what I love most is what this season represents.

Autumn is the season of letting go.

It’s the slow preparation for rest.

Winter asks us to become quiet. To recharge. To breathe. To wait for spring, that inevitable season of growth and becoming.

But autumn is the bridge.

It is the gathering in.
The finishing.
The releasing.

And in a strange way, that feels very much like the life of a photographer this time of year.

We spend these months building, creating, shooting, editing, pouring ourselves into story after story.

And then, one by one, we let them go.

A final kiss from the stylus. One last brush of a fingertip. A tiny adjustment, a final look, and then we send those memories back out into the world, exactly where they belong.

Into the hands of the people who lived them.

Finished, but not forgotten.
Released, but never really gone. 🍂

This session has been a bucket list dream of mine ever since I first picked up a camera, and recently I was given the opportunity to finally make it come true 🤎
I am such a country girl at heart that this just session just made my whole year lol

What I’m sharing today is only the tiniest glimpse into that evening, and into Laura’s beautiful world.

There are so many more moments from this session still waiting to be shared, including some incredibly special photographs with her daughter, but for now… a little bit of Laura and her horse 🐴✨

Getting to spend an evening on their farm, surrounded open fields, golden light and the sweetest mother and daughter combo was everything!! 🥹

I am so grateful to have been invited into this world and trusted me to capture a little piece of it.
For a few hours, I got the smallest glimpse of what it might feel like to be a real country girl! 🤠👢
..and could I have stayed there forever? Yes, please 🤎

And you just wait … there is so much more beauty from this evening still to come.

I've been photographing this family for yeaaarrrsss!! 😊
The first time I met them, this wee lass was just a sleepy baby and we discovered a foggy field in late September and made some spooky Halloween inspired photos!
It was honestly so cool! (I will post them in my Stories - go check them out!!)

And now every time I see them, it feels like visiting an old friend. Mini sessions are just never enough time, are they? ☺️
