Reflecting on another trip around the sun today and I am feeling eternally grateful for this wild ride called life. From foreign cities to dusty old no-name speed trap towns. I will always take the long way, the scenic route, the backroad. I will never stop talking to strangers. I’m hungry for more.

I feel blessed that I get to travel, to make art, and to work with so many incredible, talented, genuine, unique, kind, salt-of-the-earth people.

Thought I would make one of these highlight reels of a few of my favorite photos—didn’t realize it would be so hard to choose. That right there is a blessing in itself.

Thank you for being here. 🤎✨

Daphne and her little cow horse, Rainbow. 🤎✨

There is nothing I would rather do than chase sunshine through golden fields and down country roads on a long hot summer day. Daphne found me by word of mouth and I am so glad she did because this spot was such a piece of paradise and the perfect location to capture a girl and her heart horse. 🤎✨

Speaking of heart, these two have got so much much of it. It was their first time modelling and they absolutely nailed it. Give them (& the barn cat) some love in the comments. 🌻

You’re not behind, you’re not weak, you’re human, and that’s enough. 🤎✨

I knew nothing about equine massage before I met Lauren Laurenzo Wills. I watched Bear—the ole cowboy horse who once knew a gritty life of long days and early mornings—softly close his eyes as Lauren began to massage muscles that had probably been tight for the better part of two decades. It took him a moment to let out a deep breath, but he trusted her and he softened.

There are so many benefits to equine massage: stress reduction, injury prevention or recovery, improved range of motion, or even pain management for older horses. I imagine it is also psychologically beneficial for horses who work with humans to experience therapeutic human touch that is outside of training or working

Bear was so relaxed in Lauren’s presence that he even took a nap, which is also how I feel after a massage.

Let my fire burn all my life until the day that I die. Spin the tires, fuel light comes on. I pull in to the rusty old station on the corner. Sign on the door reads “cash only” so I’ll fill the tank with dollar bills and dusty quarters. Fifty nine dollars and I still get a $1.02 back. This ain’t like back home. Sure, all I’ve eaten today is a forgotten clementine but the road never promised comfort. I’d trade comfort for freedom any day.

There’s just too much to see and not enough time. There’s never enough time.
