It's with a heavy heart and extreme sadness that I have to write this post. The world has lost one of the most unique and loving persons that I have ever known. I am honoured that that I got to call her Mom, but she also made a lasting impression on everyone she met.
You were unapologetic, Jackie, and short, stubborn and opinionated. You accepted everyone for who they were, warts and all, and expected the same in return.
You believed in not holding anger or hate in your heart because life is way too short. You told me to feel my feelings, cry, be angry or whatever I need; just don't keep it in because that only hurts you and holds you back. You believed everyone and everything is connected in the universe, that we are energy, and love is all you need to tap into it.
Whether it was one of your students, a trusted friend, or a family member, you would move mountains if they asked for help.
You didn't travel that much. You loved your little country home, and took pride in how you presented it. You loved having people over, and showed your appreciation when they did. Whether it was providing a favourite lunch, dinner or treat, or a bouncy house for one small boy, you would make your guests feel seen.
I am going to miss you so much, but I know that you will always live in my heart and soul, and the same for everyone else that was lucky enough to know you. You don't get to choose who your parents or family are, but if I did, I would choose you. You have now gone to what you called the energy vibe.
I remember when I was a little kid, at bedtime you say I love you, and I would say I love you more than you love me. We would go back and forth like that for a while. Well, Mom, I know we love each other the same amount with all our hearts.
