"It was the most perfectly warm and still summer night in months. ...creatures sparkled a hundred metres under the airship, great schools of them daubing galaxies against the profound black of the sea. Spirals, flukes and arms of luminescence wheeled and coiled as if in thrall to secret music." Alastair Reynolds.
Part 2 of this set in the quiet, foggy evening down at Fisherman's park. The story being that after waiting and waiting, the fated ship that was supposed to return, never made it back to safe harbours. Leaving them alone and just as lost and adrift as the ship they waited for.
