I never dreamed that I would be so fond of the new Hudson's Detroit Complex, but it looks so LIT at night in the heart of downtown Detroit. It is now the more striking building on the city's skyline at day and night. But I still love the old architectural marvels and the RenCen.

Hello, "International" Gordie!!!

The new Gordie Howe International Bridge lit up at night as seen from the SW Detroit side in Delray. It especially pleased me when they included a pedestrian path allowing Canadians and Americans in Windsor/Detroit to cross into each others' nations on foot for the first time in decades. It also really pleases my heart hearing how many pedestrians/bicyclists are taking advantage and being so heartwarming to each other on the journey and enjoying the view, and looking forward to what waits for them ahead when they visit the other country's city and (maybe) more. With this bridge's opening, a Lake Erie circle bicycle tour is now possible since there's already a pedestrian/bicycle path on the Peace Bridge in Fort Erie, Ontario connecting with Buffalo, New York.

Detroit's Broadway at dusk. With such favorites as the Detroit Beer Company, around since 2003, well before Detroit's comeback and Simmons and Clark Jewellers, which has been open for more than a century. In the background to the right, you see the quite new Huntington Bank headquarters. The Detroit Beer Company is one of my go-to places in the D! With their in-house crafted beers and their delicious food! I would highly recommend.

The People Mover flies by the Hudson Tower and GM headquarters in downtown Detroit. It still feels surreal seeing the 39-year-old People Mover go by this relatively new skyscraper and building. 🚝🏬

There was little sunshine in the forecast for last Saturday in my return to Detroit for the first time in a year. So I made the best of it and got some moody shots around the city's ever-advancing downtown. I stopped at the famous Spirit of Detroit statue, designed by Marshall Fredericks and constructed in 1958. The large bronze statue is found on the West side of the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center, just west of the Renaissance Center. It has become the official symbol of the city.

A rare once in a lifetime bucket list shot... seeing the CTA L train (Green Line πŸ’š) clearly fly by the Chicago Theatre at night while the State/Lake station gets rebuilt.
