I almost don’t want to share this secret, but Jordan Village might just be one of the best engagement photo spots in Niagara.

Especially on a weeknight evening when the shops are closed, the streets are quiet and somehow you’ve got this ridiculously gorgeous little village almost entirely to yourselves.

It’s perfect for couples who don’t exactly love an audience. You can wander the streets, sneak down little alleyways, stop in pretty gardens and just be together without feeling like the whole world is watching.

Romantic. Quaint. Quiet. Almost European vibes.

Engaged? Save this spot.

Not me still sitting on Mother’s Day content… but honestly, these photos deserve a little extra time in the spotlight. 🤍

There is just something so special about having your family’s story documented consistently over the years.

I never expect my clients to use me as the only photographer they’ll ever hire. But there really is something to be said for looking back on your life’s biggest moments and seeing them all connected by the same heart, the same style, and someone who has had the privilege of watching your family grow.

I’ve been photographing Ashley and Andrew since they were a party of two; starting with their engagement session, followed by not one, but two weddings (thank you, pandemic 😅), then welcoming baby number one, and now sweet baby number two.

Watching this family grow is a privilege I don’t take for granted. And this little lady has entered a world where she is already surrounded by so much love, protection, and the very best big brother cuddles (ok she may have to learn to love those 😆).

Thank you for trusting me with your story, chapter after chapter. It never gets old. 🤍

Family Vacay Part 3 - Plot twist - Iceland.

Day 10 - what was supposed to be our travel day home turned into a 26 hour layover in Iceland. We were scheduled to have two hour layover in Iceland but on arrival were informed that our flight to Toronto had been cancelled and we wouldn’t fly out until 8pm the next day.

So we made the best of it. Most of our time we were being herded like cattle but they put us in a nice hotel and fed us really well.

We stayed up past midnight to enjoy the midnight daylight, opened a few of the Bordeaux bottles that were meant to come home with us.

We really didn’t have the time to see Iceland properly but we were able to get out for a lovely walk along the coast. Everywhere we looked were these gorgeous purple flowers (can’t remember what they’re called) and they smelled as gorgeous they looked…like fancy soap. Had a quick look in a little cave with a weird paper mache type giant in that was kinda creepy.

The hotel was nice but not much around to do. So I just tried to find some beauty in it all. Simon was meant to be back at work that day so he tucked himself away in various nooks to take calls.

I was now on day 9 of no access to my emails or socials. At this point I wasn’t even missing it. My kids were making fun of the cringy post they knew was sure to come about being blissfully unplugged and present. And I could actually go on about what a blessing in disguise it was. But let’s just go with…I didn’t die 😁

A vacation that had a few unexpected turns but it really was a trip I’ll treasure forever. Im also really proud of the resilient adults we’ve raised. Im so grateful to have had this experience with them. 🥰

Family Vacay Part 2 - England

Day 6 - arrived in London. Drank Guinness at various locations as these guys love to chase the best pours. Pub dinner with questionable karaoke.

Day 7 - London rain. A quick bus tour before driving to our next destination, Stratford upon Avon, the general area where Simon’s family is from. Stayed at another gem of an air bnb. A peaceful farmhouse this time.

Day 8 - a full day in the cotswolds. A family gathering at our Airbnb after. Perfection.

Day 9 - a beautiful family day even though we were missing a few main characters. A visit to Warwick, a lovely town with much family history. A fish & chips shop that’s no longer a fish & chips shop where a great grandfather was born. A stop at the home where my father in law was born and where he and auntie Pauline grew up in. Drinks at the pub across the street that was there then and now. Lilli in lillington where her nana grew up. A walk around dreamy Stratford. And then a gorgeous family garden party to celebrate auntie Pauline’s birthday. We loved this day so much.

Family Vacay Part 1 - France

📸A little from my camera and the rest from various phones of my family.

Day 1 - Landed in Paris. Stayed one night in a cute air bnb in Le Marais. Explored the neighbourhood, had an amazing dinner at the lively Chez Janou officiel followed by an uber to the Eiffel tower to see it sparkle at midnight then a fancy cocktail nearby.

Day 2 - Morning walk, Notre Dame, croissants, metro into tourist section, got pickpocketed, phone gone, a bit of chaos and panic, helped by a kind hearted good samaritan, missed our louvre time (and lost tickets on phone) but then put on a happy face and climbed the tower Eiffel together. Shoe shopping to heal my soul and further damage my bank account. Bought fresh bread, cheeses, wine and snacks and got on the fast train to Bordeaux. Loved our picnic on the train. Most relaxing part of the day and we didn’t want to get off. Checked into our fabulous airbnb and spent most of that night in awe of how much we loved it there.

Day 3 - Walk in the park. Shopping. Visit to Cité du Vin. Incredible dinner at Y A R R A . Perfection.

Day 4 - Full day guided wine tour of Chateaus in the Saint Emilion and surrpunding area with Guadeloupe (the sweetest) from Bordeaux Tours & Wine . Accidentally booked this trip the week of Lillis graduation from her Viticulture program so had a surprise grad ceremony during our beautiful lunch with Sally, owner/winemaker at Chateau George 7 l Fronsac l Bordeaux. Such a beautiful day.

Day 5 - Lost a bit of this day dealing with things related to the great phone heist of Paris. Kids did their own thing. Met up in the late afternoon for rooftop patio fun and another beautiful dinner out.

Day 6 - Fly from Bordeaux to London.
