I’m constantly looking at light, angles, lines, texture and the list goes on. I’ve been playing with cameras for 35 years and I still love it. Now that I’m retired and can spend more time pursuing my passion, I’m a happy man. Being outside and photographing almost anything gives me focus (pun intended). Learning a craft, like photography is more than the technical eleme

nts, it requires vision and a love of learning. I’m enjoying the interaction and multiple facets of photographing people in their many environments, trying to make photographs that will be treasured for years to come.

If you live in Parry Sound, you may know me as an educator, teacher and principal. I still play vice principal on occasion when needed. Today I was lucky enough to be at the opening of the new Parry Sound High School. As many of you have seen I've been droning the build since they started. Today was the first day students and staff got to be in the building. (The beginning of the rest of the school being taken down will be starting shortly to be fully ready for September.) I took a few shots on a tour before the students arrived. Government and Board officials were there as well as some staff for the official ribbon cutting by principal Liz Simser. There is still a ton of work to do, but custodial staff, teachers and mostly students have waited a long time for this to come.

One last sunset from my Snakes trip. Heading out again tomorrow for a few days. No destination planned, just a direction...

Flying over the Snakes, gives one a view of the multiple spots to camp. The Outer Island Project has installed 5 'thunder boxes' to keep the island clean. We saw very little garbage, and left none. (except the two beer cans in the home of two big Eastern Foxsnakes, now a threatened species.
