During our September astrophotography workshop, we had some fun experimenting with drone light-painting beneath the Milky Way. A few carefully timed movements, a long exposure, and a little imagination turned the night sky into a fun photo. 🌌

It’s always great to mix things up, try something different, and see what we can create together under the stars!

A unique view of downtown Parry Sound

Fairmile Shipwreck. I’ve photographed this a few times before and it’s very challenging to shoot. The small inlet where it lies is surrounded by tall trees blocking much of the sky. There aren’t many places to get my camera on a tripod close to the wreck, and lighting the wreck is very difficult - for this photo I flew my drone with a light attached to shine light down directly onto it. I’m happy with how it turned out, but will likely find myself back there again sometime in the future to get the perfect shot.

I haven’t had a chance to post in a while — between family life and a stretch of pretty bad winter weather, photography has taken a bit of a back seat lately.
So to kick off 2026, I’m sharing something a little different than what I normally post. This aerial was taken last summer and now that we’re into 2026 I felt like it’s a good time to put it out there.
Does anyone know where these trees shaped like “2000” are located? 🌲🌲🌲
They were planted before the millennium as a Y2K marker, and they’re still growing strong today.
Sometimes it’s fun to look back while moving forward into a new year. Looking forward to producing some great photo content this year!

✨It was a great pleasure to be the photographer for my cousin’s special day. A crystal clear night gave us the opportunity to briefly slip away from the wedding celebrations and capture this nighttime shot of the bride and groom beneath this tree. 👰‍♀️🤵‍♂️🌌

Beneath emerald waters lies the wreck of the Petrie — an old fishing boat whose history has faded into mystery. Little is known about her story, but from above she rests quietly, becoming part of the landscape.
