Editing days are some of my favorite days.

It’s the quiet moment after the experience where I get to see the transformation again.

There’s always a frame where something shifts.

A woman relaxes.
Her eyes soften.
Her shoulders drop.

You can actually see the moment she starts believing what everyone else already sees.

Those images are my favorite.

Some mornings look like a photoshoot day.
Hair, makeup, cameras, music in the studio.

And some mornings look like this.

Quiet coffee.
A walk outside.
Letting my nervous system settle before the day begins.

One thing I’ve learned after working with so many women is that confidence rarely comes from big dramatic changes.

It grows slowly through the small things we do for ourselves consistently.

Stepping outside.
Moving our bodies.
Choosing to slow down instead of pushing harder.

Those moments are easy to overlook, but they shape everything.

Val’s session started with a full-body hell yes.

She witnessed a sunrise lake session and knew... that’s how I want to see myself.

So she listened.

There’s something about choosing yourself in that way that shifts everything. The decision alone begins the unshackling.

We met the morning light by the water, and as it so often does, nature held us beautifully. Golden glow, stillness, breath. And yes... an unexpected park worker wandered by, curious and kind, cheering Val on like the universe itself had sent a little confirmation nod.

And that blue one-piece… she was obsessed with it. Rightfully so. The color against her skin in that light? Unreal. It didn’t wear her — she embodied it.

What I believe deeply is this: Nature has a way of softening the noise. When we step into it intentionally, we remember who we are underneath expectation.

Liberation isn’t dramatic.

Sometimes it’s simply saying yes to seeing yourself differently.

Lake and river sessions for Summer 2026 are now open, and these sunrise spots are limited for a reason. If your body felt a little spark reading this, that’s usually your cue.

Darcie joined me on a live to show what a session actually looks like.

No filters. No hiding. Just real time.

And what I love most about her series is that it captures something so honest, the nerves. The vulnerability. The “I’m not totally comfortable but I’m doing this anyway.”

Because that’s the part people don’t talk about enough.

You don’t have to arrive fearless.
You don’t have to feel perfectly at home in your body.
You don’t have to have it all figured out.

Darcy let herself be seen in the middle of the nerves, and that’s where the magic happened.

Mother Nature absolutely showed off for us that evening. The light was golden, soft, generous. The dress she chose moved beautifully.

Her hair and makeup felt effortless and aligned. But more than any of that, it was her willingness to step outside of her comfort zone.... publicly... that made these images so powerful.

It’s one thing to book a session.
It’s another to say yes to growth in front of an audience.

That says so much about her character and her desire to create something new for herself.

And the result?

Unbelievable images that reflect exactly how incredible she already is.

Confidence isn’t required. Courage is.

The photoshoot itself is about an hour. BUT we'll shoot up to two hours depending on how many bonuses you choose.

But it never feels rushed.

You'll likely arrive convinced you have no idea how to pose. Which is completely normal.

That’s why every movement, every pose, and even facial expressions are gently guided.

Over the years I’ve trained with some of the most respected educators in the bo***ir industry, learning how to coach women into positions that highlight their natural beauty and confidence.

You’re never left wondering what to do.

You’re guided the entire way.

And somewhere along the way… the nerves disappear.

Every woman who has stepped into my studio once stood exactly where you might be standing now.

Curious.
A little nervous.
Wondering if it’s really something she could do.

What I’ve learned after photographing so many women is this:

The ones who say yes to the experience rarely regret it.
But many wish they hadn’t waited so long to choose themselves.

Name something you’ve done for yourself lately. Something that was only for you. 👀

Historically, women’s bodies have rarely been treated as something that belonged fully to them.

They’ve been regulated.

Judged.
Moralized.
Critiqued.

From religious institutions to beauty industries, women have been given endless rules about how their bodies should exist in the world.

Too sexual? Problem.
Not sexual enough? Problem.
Too confident? Problem.

The rules were never designed for women to win.

They were designed to keep women self-monitoring.

🩵 CHARACTER REVEAL: ALICE 🩵
Not the perfect Alice.

Not the polished fairytale version.

This Alice is curious.
Emotional.
A little dreamy.
A little disoriented.

The girl who wandered into the chaos and stayed long enough to become part of it.

Soft blue tones.
Flowing fabrics.
Ribbons.
Bare feet in the moss.
Golden light through the trees.
A little innocence mixed with something deeper.

The vision for this character feels:
✨ whimsical
✨ feminine
✨ cinematic
✨ emotionally expressive

Think wandering through the forest before stumbling into the madness of the tea party.

This could lean:
🩵 softer and ethereal
OR
🖤 moodier and more editorial/bo***ir-inspired

(That’s the fun part... we get to create together.)

This is NOT about looking like a costume character.
This is about embodying an energy.

I want to know: 👇 What about Alice calls to you?

Would you play her soft… chaotic… sensual… curious… emotional?

Tell me your version of Alice.

ANNNNND.... if you think you're my Alice!!!
1. send me an email to [email protected]
Subject "Alice"
2. tell me why you wanna be her.
3. Include a full body selfie (mirror selfies count!)

I believed confidence was something you earned after fixing yourself......After losing the weight...After getting your life together...After you finally felt “ready.”

But what I’ve witnessed through the women who step in front of my camera is something completely different.

Confidence isn’t built from perfection.

It’s built from permission.

Permission to be seen before you feel fully ready.
Permission to take up space.
Permission to stop apologizing for the body that has carried you through
everything.

Every woman who walks into my studio thinks she’s doing this for photos.

But what actually happens?

She remembers who she is.

If you’ve been waiting for the moment you feel confident enough to book a session… this might be the moment you realize confidence comes after you decide you’re worthy of the experience.
