The foundation is a love and understanding of the North, a oneness with the land, and a sense of Mother Nature fostering a new age. - Lawren Harris, founding member of the Group of Seven

The Group of Seven was a famous collective of Canadian landscape painters active from 1920 to 1933. They sought to create a distinct national identity through bold, rugged depictions of the Canadian wilderness.

Tawny went on a day trip on her holidays to Huntsville, Ontario, which hosts the Group of Seven Outdoor Gallery . This free, year-round open-air public art exhibition features over 100 large-scale painted reproductions of masterpieces by Tom Thomson and other Group of Seven artists. The murals are across town and the spread through the surrounding Muskoka and Algonquin regions.

Tawny finished her tour with a trip to the pub on the dock. What a wonderful day, and a perfect way to join Steve Francesco and poppydottle for "inspired by travel and culture" with Canadian culture. We also join Karen 🌹 for and Jannick Clamy for with full summer vibes. Happy Friday dolls!

It was tough work, but Cole gave it his all on holidays and rode his bicycle down a huge stretch of the Haliburton Rail Trail. His humans did all the hard work, of course!! We rode 16 km in total: 8 in and 8 back. The total length of the trail is 35 km, so there's lots of different areas to explore. Sixteen was enough for us in one day, and even then we were paying the price the next day! We join Jannick Clamy for and our own today!

Thank you to Rotary International Haliburton for everything you do, including a beautiful stone seating area along the trail that made a perfect rest stop! Happy Thursday dolls!

It had been a long while, but Tawny finally got to have a visit with one of her closest dollie friends, Lily, recently. And of course, that meant that I got to see my fabulous friend Dina Formerly too! Dina and Lily brought Tawny and I a hand carved wooden bowl from Tobermory, Ontario. Tawny can't wait to display it with her other collector bowls.

Dina and Lily, and Tawny and I were all dressed in denim and green so of course we were excited to join Grandma Gets Real®️ for today. swipe to the end to see a picture of all four of us together.

We spent the afternoon chatting and laughing and catching up while sipping tea and nibbling on cookies. The dolls did exactly the same!

It was so fabulous to see you again Dina, and I hope we can do it again soon! This post definitely called for YOUR song as the soundtrack!! That's right friends, Dina is a woman of many talents, including a recorded singer! Isn't t she incredible? Happy Tuesday dolls!

It may not be quite the Caribbean, but sitting on a lake by the water with a favourite beverage and some good music can take us anywhere we want to be. Berry loves the water, as well as a good party!! She is thrilled to join Jannick Clamy today for as we wish our favourite Caribbean Queen a very happy birthday weekend!

Berry is also making the most of the aqua breeze as she joins Margaret Ann | Doll Collecting & Photography for in the dog days of summer, for with Karen 🌹 too. Wishing Berry and her human inspiration good cheer today! Happy Saturday dolls!

Hey local Canadian doll friends! Guess what's coming to Toronto? A doll show for collectors, artists, and enthusiasts of all fashion dolls! This differs from other doll and toy shows in its focus exclusively on fashion dolls. Don't get me wrong, those other shows are super fun and have their place too, but they are often limited in what they offer Barbie and other fashion dolls shoppers. Thank you 💖 Eighties Barbie Girl 💖 for making this happen!

I'm also excited to be a vendor at this show - a very first for me! So please share, attend if you can, and start compiling your wish list. See you there!!! 🩷

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!

Tory treats us to some new The Tragically Chip ice cream today! This limited-edition collaboration between cottage country's beloved Kawartha Dairy and the rock band The Tragically Hip blends maple whisky-flavored ice cream with dark chocolate chunks and a black cherry ripple.

The idea connects two Canadian staples that share a history in small-town Ontario. Kawartha Dairy was founded in Bobcaygeon nearly 90 years ago, which is also the iconic location immortalized in The Tragically Hip’s famous 1999 song "Bobcaygeon". Part of the proceeds from every scoop and tub of this collaboration sold go to the Breakfast Club of Canada, to help fund nutritious school breakfast programs for children.

This new flavour was released ahead of summer and Canada Day, and became an instant hit, causing widespread sellouts and prompting the dairy to ramp up production schedules to restock shelves! Of course, when we saw that it was available, Tory and I both had to try it. However, this was an unplanned excursion so I didn't actually have any doll ice cream with me, and could not find anything in the local dollar store that looked like one, so I had to improvise.

🩷 Tawny: Barbie Convention was so much fun! I still can’t stop smiling about all the friends we saw, and new ones we made.

🩵 Mika: Me too! One of my favorite parts was getting to watch you with everyone. You have so many wonderful friends, and seeing how happy they were to spend time with you made me so happy too.

🩷 Tawny: Aww… but I felt exactly the same watching you! Everyone was so excited to see Karen’s tiny mini me again! I loved seeing you shine.

🩵 Mika: You know, a few people wondered if we’d be jealous because we had to share the spotlight.

🩷 Tawny: Jealous? Not even for a second!

🩵 Mika: There’s nothing to be jealous of when your biggest joy is seeing your best friend succeed.

🩷 Tawny: Besides… we’ve never been competing for the same role. I’ve always been Karen’s “what if?”—an alternate-universe version of her life.

🩵 Mika: And I’m Karen’s tiny mini me… her chance to shrink down and step into your world.

🩷 Tawny: Different stories…

🩷 Tawny: The truth is, we’re not rivals.

Hey dolls! We are on vacation at the cottage now, and yesterday we went on a short road strip to the Bancroft Rockhound Gemboree! Did you know that Bancroft is the Mineral Capital of Canada, featuring over 90% of the world's known mineral types and hosting the iconic Rockhound Gemboree, Canada's largest gem and mineral show? Established in 1963, it runs annually over the Civic Holiday long weekend in late July/early August every year!

We had so much fun admiring all of the gorgeous geodes and enormous pieces of amethyst that have been found locally. And we brought home a few goodies too! My human got me a carved agate bowl, some tiny charms to make new jewellery, and the biggest crystal ball ever!

Oh wait, she just said the crystal ball is not for me. It's for her. Bummer! Well, I can't deny that she did find an amazing 3-D printed stand for it so I'll give her that!

Do you like to collect gemstones? We love amethyst, rose quartz, and turquoise because they are our favourite colors! Which ones are your favourites? Happy Saturday dolls!
