I was in Jasper early October, when I came across this tree. The clouds and sunlight kept changing while I photographed what appeared to be a tree climbing out of the water.
The tree reminded me of a poster that I had in my room back in the late 60's (poster in comments)

I was driving down a back road north of Picture Butte, Alberta when I encountered these different looking birds. I quickly did a 180 on the road hoping they wouldn't disappear. Known as the Guinea fowl bird, it is native to Africa, and has been introduced as a domesticated species into North America and other countries.

I found it interesting to see so many gulls sitting on railing. The markings indicate juvenile Bonaparte’s Gulls.
Notice that the boardwalk at Elk Island Park is under water.

I stopped to photograph the grain elevators in Mossleigh, Alberta, and when I went behind the old rail cars, I was greeted with some great graffiti art.

The Pan-American Traditional Dragon Dance Competition took place in Edmonton this past weekend. The props consisted pallets, stools, and benches, that were set up and taken down by each group within a certain time frame Each performance told a different story and lasted between 7-8 minutes. These are 5 groups from Sundays competition.

I was at Lois Hole Provincial Park, watching the Barn swallow adults catching bugs and feeding their young. The food hand off is quite fast, but what really amazes me is how the parents can recognize their own offspring among all the others.

Taking a chance that we were going to get a nice sunset, I drove out to Elk Island Park. Mother nature with the unique cloud formation did not disappoint.

It's been a few years since an orb spider resided in my garage by the window. It was 9:30 PM when I noticed this beauty ( some might disagree) enjoying a wrap. Seven feet up, I had to stand on a stool. I used a single flash strobe in combination with the outside back door light and the inside garage lights. I'm quite happy with the lighting, as I was concerned about reflections from the glass.
