Another Birthday, Another Chapter. 🤍

I recently celebrated another birthday surrounded by loved ones, and it gave me a chance to reflect on what has been an incredibly challenging year.

2026 has been difficult, to say the least. I’ve been recovering from a serious H. pylori bacterial infection that has continued to affect my health. It’s a surprisingly common infection that can lead to ulcers and increase the risk of stomach cancer. Unfortunately, mine has been a particularly difficult case, and recovery has been slow.

But there have been some beautiful moments too. My daughter completed her biochemistry degree and was hired into her field right away, and my son is now enjoying his first semester of engineering. Nothing makes a mom happier than seeing her children thrive. ❤️

Looking ahead, 2027 will be a year of change for both me and my business.

Pinkstar Photography and Studio 74 will be undergoing a makeover and rebranding. I’m looking forward to simplifying our sets, embracing a more timeless style and creating a fresh direction for the studio.

After everything this year has brought, I’m ready for a little simplicity and a new chapter.

In the meantime, we’re still capturing life’s celebrations! From first birthdays and milestone sessions to birthday parties and special events, I’d love to help you preserve those memories.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me through this challenging year. Here’s to better health, new beginnings and another trip around the sun. 🤍

What a difference a year makes! ♥️🤩🎂 this little beauty has always had the biggest smile. Super infectious and so happy. She literally makes you want one asap. There’s a few birthdays this week. I will be posting some exciting promotions and maybe some news and changes. For now you have to show baby girl all the ♥️♥️♥️♥️.

September was Mental Health Awareness Month. And for me, mental health isn’t something I can talk about only one month of the year.

I struggle. Heavily.

This year has been one of the hardest of my life. Between a major health crisis and circumstances my mental health team has described as nothing short of torture, there have been days when simply getting through the day has taken everything I have.

I’d say I’m about 50/50 right now. Good days and bad days.

One thing I’ve learned is that when life becomes incredibly difficult, you find out who is really there for you. Unfortunately, you also discover who is willing to cause even more pain when you’re already at your most vulnerable.

That’s something I’m still trying to understand.

We talk a lot about helping people heal from trauma — therapy, medication, rest, exercise, boundaries. But we don’t talk enough about the fact that the people who caused the trauma often get to carry on, while the person they hurt has to learn how to live with what was done to them.

I’m fortunate to have professionals helping me put myself back together, mentally and physically. But healing is hard. And some days I genuinely don’t know what makes the difference.

Maybe it’s time. Maybe patience. Maybe it’s finding little pieces of beauty when you can and holding onto them.

Right now, I’m still figuring it out.
