Hello hello! I’m Nicole and I’m grateful that you’re here. My belief is that we are all connected.

Though I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Education, Severe Special Needs and French Literature, and pursued Masters studies in Education, Severe Special Needs, NeuroPsychology and Brain Trauma, my first love, Photography, ultimately won. Upon moving to Calgary, from Denver, Rochester, Boston, and Taichung, Taiwan, I completed a Photography Certificate at SAIT. However, most of what I’ve learned about photography, and my distinct style, was inherited via osmosis from my professional photographer parents back in the day. I am constantly honing my craft through continual learning opportunities, be it through classes, workshops, or approaching those in the field amongst whom I strive to be recognized as their peer in their circle of brilliancy. Wife to my true love of 20+ years, Momma to my 2 littles, who are no longer so little, but will always be my babies, lover of walks in nature, music of most genres, and time with f(r)amily, a true water being (I can sit and play in water for hours upon hours), working out, and big belly-felt laughter. You don’t have to walk into my studio feeling confident.

You can be nervous. You can be completely out of your comfort zone. You can tell me you have absolutely no idea what you’re doing.

That’s what I’m here for.

I’ll guide you through the posing, the breathing and all the little details. Then somewhere along the way, not too long after you enter the studio, the nerves usually turn into laughter.

You don’t have to know how to do this. You just have to show up.

There is an art to photographing a woman in a way that feels both beautiful and true to her.

Not hiding her body. Not changing it.

Understanding how light, movement and intentional posing can flatter it.

So if your stomach or love handles have been the reason you’re hesitant to step in front of the camera, leave the posing to me.

You’re not expected to arrive knowing how to be photographed.

That’s what I’m here for.

Beautiful posing should look effortless.

What you don’t see are the tiny adjustments behind the scenes; where your bodyweight falls on the supporting leg, the angle of your hips, the placement of a hand, the length created through your body.

You don’t need to know your best angles before you arrive.

Knowing them for you is part of the experience.

One of the most common things women tell me before their session?

“I’m self-conscious about my stomach.”

You don’t have to hide it. You just need a photographer who understands how to pose the female body.

Every angle, every curve, every small adjustment is intentional.

I want my studio to feel like a place to be celebrated. To be taken care of. To feel beautiful without qualifying it first.

The post-shoot interview might be one of my favourite parts.

The nerves are gone. The woman sitting next to me suddenly has a lot to say about the thing she was nervous to do a few hours ago.

Usually some version of: I can’t believe I was so worried. It was so much fun.

There’s something incredibly luxurious about giving yourself an afternoon where the entire experience is designed around you; the styling, the direction, the details, the photographs.

Then getting to leave knowing you accomplished it beautifully.

That post-shoot confidence? You get to take that part home with you.
