You just need to show up.

Because your maternity session shouldn’t feel like another thing you have to prepare for or get “right.”

My job is to guide you through the entire experience—from choosing your looks and preparing for your session, to posing, movement, lighting and all those little in-between moments that make your images feel like you.

And most importantly, I want you to feel seen.

Not smaller.
Not self-conscious.
Not hidden behind the camera.

Seen as a woman, a mother, a partner—and the person carrying an entire little life.

Because one day, your children won’t just want to see photographs of their baby bump.

They’ll want to see the woman who was there before they arrived.

So if you’ve been putting off maternity photos because you don’t feel confident, you don’t know how to pose, or you have no idea what you’re going to wear…

Let this be your sign.

You don’t have to know how to do it. You just have to show up.

The ultimate photoshoot prep guide

Save this for the week before your next photoshoot!

If you have a maternity photoshoot, branding photoshoot, family photoshoot, portrait session or professional headshots coming up, a little preparation can make a BIG difference in how you feel in front of the camera.

I’m sharing all of my photoshoot beauty essentials, skincare favourites and prep products in one place, from the products I recommend for hydrated, glowing skin to the little things that help you feel polished and photo-ready.

7 days before: Hair mask, mani + pedi essentials, body moisturizer, hydration and outfit prep.

5–6 days before: Body exfoliator, body lotion, brow care, waxing essentials and self-tanner prep.

3–4 days before: Hair care, deep conditioner, body care and everything you need to get your outfits photo-ready.

2 days before: Hydrating face mask, under-eye patches, lip mask, cuticle oil, self-tanner and glow-up essentials.

1 day before: Keep your skincare routine simple, moisturize, steam your outfits, pack your accessories and get some sleep.

Photoshoot morning: Keep it simple, moisturized skin, lip balm, your outfits on hangers and a good breakfast.

My favourite photoshoot preparation products are all linked in my bio under LTK

Think of this as your photoshoot prep checklist + beauty prep guide + self-care routine all in one.

Whether you’re preparing for a maternity photography session, branding photography session, professional headshot session, couples photoshoot, family photography session or portrait photoshoot, these are the products I’d reach for to help you feel glowing, polished, confident and camera-ready.

If you’re wondering what your partner is supposed to do during your maternity session… I’ve got you.

One of my favourite parts of a maternity session is bringing your partner into the photos in a way that feels natural, connected and fun, not stiff or overly posed.

From laughing and being silly, to slow kisses, walking together, admiring her, and simply being close… I’ll guide you through every moment so you never have to wonder, “What do we do now?”

And partners are always welcome to attend the entire session. But if your partner isn’t a fan of photos or doesn’t want to be there for the full experience, that’s completely okay too.

I often suggest having them join us towards the end of the session. By that point, we’ve already captured your individual maternity portraits, and we can keep the couples portion short, relaxed and sweet.

You get the beautiful solo images you want, they don’t have to spend hours in front of the camera, and we still get those meaningful images together.

Because maternity photos aren’t just about documenting your bump.

They’re about documenting the two of you becoming three.

Not just in my work, but in myself.
Photography has pushed me to take risks, try new things, put myself out there and believe that I could actually build something of my own.

I went from spending my days in a corporate 9–5 to building a career where I get to create something beautiful every single

A community of women who support each other, celebrate each other and remind me that business doesn’t have to feel lonely.

Photography has challenged me to constantly learn, experiment, create, invest in myself and become better, not just as a photographer, but as a business owner.

I don’t just take photos.

I get to make women feel beautiful.
I get to make people feel confident.
I get to create something that will be looked at years from

To hear their stories, celebrate their milestones, build meaningful relationships and be part of some of the most important seasons of their lives.

Pregnancy.
Motherhood.
New beginnings.
Growing families.
Big milestones.
Business launches.
New chapters.

There is something incredibly special about being trusted to preserve those moments for someone else.

From my clients to other entrepreneurs, creatives and local business owners, some of the most meaningful connections in my life have come through photography.

building my own business has allowed me to create something that fits around my life, not the other way around.

It’s given me the flexibility to be there for the school events, the little moments, the days off, the family time and the memories I never want to miss.

And as a mom, that freedom is one of the biggest things photography has given me.

I didn’t just build a career. I built a career that allows me to be present for the life I’m working so hard to create.

The older I get, the more I realize that being a successful female entrepreneur isn’t about trying to do everything yourself.

It’s about knowing what is actually worth investing in.

5 things I believe are worth every penny:

Education — workshops, mentorship, coaches and learning from people who are already where you want to be.

Professional photography — because your brand deserves to look as professional as the business you’ve built.

SEO — getting your business in front of the right people while you sleep is an investment that can continue working for you long after you’ve paid for it.

An accountant/bookkeeper — understanding your numbers and having someone help you manage them properly can save you money, time and a LOT of stress.

Networking events — because some of the best opportunities, collaborations, clients and friendships come from simply putting yourself in the right rooms.

The common denominator?

I’m not investing in things just to spend money. I’m investing in things that give me back something, knowledge, visibility, time, connections or growth.

And sometimes the biggest business expense isn’t spending money…

It’s staying stuck because you’re afraid to invest in yourself.

Your branding shoot starts before you step in front of my camera.

And yes, I’m going to be a little bossy about it. I’ve got you.

I’ve been on both sides of the camera, as a photographer and as the person being photographed, so I know how much more confident you feel when you actually feel prepared.

A branding shoot isn’t just about showing up and taking pretty photos. We’re creating images that represent you, your business and the level you want your brand to be seen at.

So here’s your pre-shoot checklist:

Hydrate. Properly. Your skin will thank you.

Get some sleep. Actual sleep. Not five hours and optimism.

Take care of the beauty details. Nails, brows, hair colour, tan whatever makes you feel polished and confident.

Professional hair & makeup: If you’re having hair and makeup done at the studio, please arrive with freshly washed and completely dried hair from the night before. For makeup, come with a fresh, clean face and absolutely nothing on your skin.

Try on every outfit. Full look. Shoes, accessories, everything. Don’t leave it to the morning of.

Steam your clothes. Please. Photoshop can do a lot, but it is not a steamer.

Bring the right undergarments. N**e seamless underwear and the right bras can make such a difference.

Eat. Have breakfast and bring a snack. We are not creating hangry CEO content.

Wear something comfortable to the studio. Tight clothing can leave marks on your skin, and we want you looking fresh when we start.

Give yourself time. Don’t schedule your shoot between three meetings and then arrive answering emails in the makeup chair.

You’ve invested in your brand. Give yourself the space to actually enjoy the experience.

When you feel good, it shows.

It changes how you stand, how you move, how you take direction and ultimately, how you see yourself in your images.

Because these aren’t just photos.

They are the visual representation of your brand.

So let’s treat your branding shoot like the campaign it is.

Nobody tells you these things before your maternity photos… and honestly, they should.

Because there’s a lot more to a maternity session than putting on a pretty dress and standing in front of a camera.

You might not feel “glowy.”
You might feel swollen, uncomfortable, or completely unlike yourself.
You might think you waited too long.
You might have no idea what to bring or what to wear.
And you might not realize just how much these photographs will mean to you years from now.

Here’s what I want every expecting mom to know:

You don’t have to feel beautiful to look beautiful.
The timing matters—don’t wait until you’re counting down the days.
You don’t need to arrive with a suitcase of outfits. I’ve got you covered.
Even if you think you’re “too late,” reach out. We may still be able to make it happen.
These photos aren’t just for you. One day, your child will look at them and see how loved they were before you ever held them.

Your pregnancy doesn’t have to look perfect to be worth documenting.

It just has to be yours.

If you’re expecting in Toronto, Burlington, Oakville, Hamilton or the GTA and you’ve been thinking about maternity photos… this is your sign to stop waiting.

Save this for later or send me a DM and let’s create something you’ll be grateful you said yes to.

I didn’t invest in this experience because I needed to learn how to take better photos. I invested because I refuse to stop growing.

As photographers, it’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day of running a business; clients, editing, emails, content, marketing, motherhood, life… and before you know it, you’re operating on what you already know.

I don’t want to do that.

I want to keep pushing myself creatively. I want to learn from photographers whose work challenges me. I want to understand new techniques, see things differently, and bring that knowledge back into my own work and my clients’ experiences.

I’ve invested a lot into my education over the years, including one-on-one mentoring with Vanessa Canals in Miami. So getting to see her again at the Maternity & Newborn Summit was incredibly special.

Watching her work her magic in person and learning about her approach to creative sets, lighting, posing, styling and the little details that transform an image was such a valuable experience.

But honestly, some of the best parts of investing in education have nothing to do with the camera.

It’s the conversations.
The perspective.
The people you meet.
The ideas you leave with.
The reminder that you are capable of more.

I’m a firm believer that if you want your business to grow, you have to be willing to grow with it.

And sometimes that means investing your time, your money and your energy into becoming better, even when you already have a successful business.

I’m so grateful I got to reconnect with Vanessa, learn from her again, and be reminded why I’ll always choose to invest in myself and my craft.

Because the goal isn’t to arrive.

It’s to keep becoming better.
