🌻 In two weeks, my girl starts high school. 🌻

I’m not quite sure how we got here.
Fourteen years somehow went from tiny hands and little girl days to watching this beautiful, confident young woman get ready for an entirely new chapter.

So before high school begins, I wanted to freeze this version of her in time, standing in a sunflower field, soaking up the last little bit of summer, completely and unapologetically her. 🤍

She’s growing, changing, becoming more independent… and while I’m so excited to see who she becomes, part of me wishes I could slow it all down just a little.

Because these are the days I know I’ll want to remember.

And if there’s one thing motherhood has taught me, it’s that you never regret taking the photos.

Choosing a maternity or newborn photographer? Here are a few things I recommend considering before booking. 🤍

Your photographer is going to be trusted with some of the most meaningful moments of your life, so choosing the right one is about more than simply finding someone whose photos you like.

✨ Look at their full portfolio.

Don’t just choose someone based on one beautiful image. Look at complete galleries and make sure you love the consistency of their work.

✨ Choose a style you genuinely love.

Every photographer has their own approach to lighting, posing, editing, and storytelling. Make sure their style matches what you envision for your own memories.

✨ Ask about newborn safety.

Your baby’s safety should always be the highest priority. Don’t be afraid to ask about experience, training, and how your baby will be handled and posed.

✨ Understand exactly what is included.

Ask about session length, the number of images included, products, galleries, and any additional costs so you know what to expect.

✨ Make sure you feel comfortable with your photographer.

18 years ago, I was counting down the days until I would finally meet you. I wondered who you would be, what you would love, what your laugh would sound like, and what kind of person you would become.

And now, here I am getting ready to watch you walk across the stage, diploma in hand, preparing to leave for college. How did 18 years pass in the blink of an eye?

I can still see your tiny fingers wrapped around mine, your first steps, your little voice calling “Mom,” your first day of school when I held back tears as I watched you walk away with that oversized backpack.

Now you are stepping into a much bigger world, carrying the same kindness, strength, determination, and beautiful heart that I watched grow day by day.

Being your mother has been the greatest privilege of my life. I am endlessly proud of the person you have become and so excited to watch you chase your dreams and discover all the incredible things waiting for you.

No matter how far you go or how much you grow, you will always be my baby.

Congratulations, my graduate. The world is lucky to have you, and I will always be your biggest fan. ❤️🎓
