We managed to miss the storm last evening where we were, but we waited it out. When the storm clouds had moved in, we went out and explored, and I couldn't believe the amount of ladies that felt like coming out for a dinner chat as I went by. Of course, due to the threat of the storm, I left the big camera at home.

Some are easy to spot, others are kind of like Where's Waldo.

When I am shooting with my camera, usually, my partner in mischief is filming a little video. Sometimes, I don't have the camera with me at all, so I just watch and take a little video to share with him later.

One of a few families of nesting Mute swans that surround the beautiful Bay of Quinte. Sadly the cygnets did not survive the minks and thunderstorm we had last night, so the newest hatchling was the last of the 7 eggs to be born. For just awhile he/she experienced the beauty of the world.

A bittersweet post this am. Yesterday, I mentioned getting to witness life enter the world. This family of swans welcomed it's 5th cygnet hatchling around 3pm yesterday. There were 2 eager eggs remaining with small holes and adorable beaks poking through. Sad news to report, that it appears that minks injured/killed the babies and the rest were lost during the violent thunderstorms we experienced overnight, took the entire lot from the nest. Mama is bereft and without her babies this morning. It serves as a stark reminder, that nothing is promised. Life begins in a blink and death can come just as quickly. So live your life and take in all of it. The good and the bad.

Hello to my new visitors and followers, thank you for coming! The past several months have been challenging for a number of reasons. Hence posting has been few and far between. Today, I managed to spend a few hours by the water in my chair and I was able to observe a new life come into the world. I will do my absolute best to get these shots out of the camera and out to the world for your viewing pleasure.

Just a friendly reminder: this is a safe space for amateur photo enthusiasts. We do not alter, we do not Photoshop. We just share the natural beauty as captured. So if you see a noisy or blurry photo, please scroll on by without pointing it out!
