Als professioneel fotograaf ben ik momenteel al 10 jaar vooral bezig met reportage-, concert- en portretfotografie. De laatste tijd fotografeer ik ook vaak architecturale en productopdrachten. Nog meer dan een fotograaf beschouw ik mezelf als een verhalenverteller. Voor mij moet een foto geen statisch beeld zijn, maar een verhaal vertellen dat je raakt en niet onberoerd laat, in welke discipline d

an ook. Ik hou van pure beelden, natuurlijk licht en minimaal photoshoppen :-). Lijnen en grafische elementen lopen als rode draad door mijn werk. Humor en een open, onbevangen blik hele belangrijk componenten bij het vastleggen van mijn beelden. Door me open te stellen en echt te kijken, ontdek ik verrassende dingen en ervaar de verhalen achter de façades, die ik dan probeer te bevriezen in één beeld. Als ik portretten shoot, is het voor mij heel belangrijk dat ik echt contact maak en de persoon op haar of zijn gemak stel. Zo wordt het een waardevolle ontmoeting en een mooi portret.

Dit was Gent Jazz op 13 juli... jammer genoeg door de files te laat voor Lady Lynn. Die dag waren verder Selah Sou en the Gallands, Bel Cobain, Samara Joy, Aron! en John Legend op de afspraak. Door de fantastische regel dat er enkel vanuit de FOH mocht gefotografeerd worden met een staand publiek was vooral John Legend een ramp. Niet grappig. Met Samara joy heb ik me nog wat kunnen verplaatsen ter hoogte van de FOH, dus die foto's zijn wel ok... enjoy the pics dan maar die wel gelukt zijn. ...

A while ago in April, I was asked to make a portrait of Birger, who had just started up his business and wanted some pictures for his website. Normally I like to meet in person before I take on a portrait job but by coïncidence our paths crossed on line and we had a long talk on the phone. I immediately had the feeling that this would be a valuable encounter. During the shoot we instantly connected and I was very humbled by the trust he gave me by telling his life story which enabled me to portray his personality. It was a beautiful afternoon and it underlined my deep believe that a portrait is never an isolated picture and a mere push on the button but the result of an interaction on both sides of the camera. Birger granted me permission to share some of the pictures, for which I thank him....

Throwback to a very warm Tuesday 23 June 2026. At the Roma Ben Harper brought a very intimate set. In spite of the heat wave, people remained seated and enjoyed this very beautiful concert... Enjoy the pictures. Unfortunately not that many as photographers were restricted to the first 2 songs.

In 4 days time Jazz Middelheim starts with on Saturday amongst other brilliant artists Flea presenting his new album Honora. I am already completely addicted to this incredible, mesmarizing piece of art. Am very excited to be accredited as a photographer that day. Stay tuned for the pics.
