Did you know my girlfriend is a really good singer?
This past weekend, Tali Rain and I headed over to Magnetic Island for a little RnR before tackling her last Semester of Uni, and more importantly, for her performance at Bounce Magnetic Island on Sunday, which was absolutely incredible!
It was also the perfect opportunity for some photos with the Washburn Guitars guitar that I scored off marketplace as a gift for Tali completing an ungodly amount of slave labour hours through Uni placements.
For the past 3 years I’ve listened to this pretty lady singing and strumming to herself, writing her own songs and creating incredible covers, wondering when she’d be willing to admit that music was her dream.
Then 4 weeks ago, after a little coaxing by moi, Tali (finally) decided to see if she could get a busking spot at the markets…
Since then, she’s had a gig every week (this being the 4th) with a bunch more already booked in, including some exciting ones that I’m not sure I can share yet!
All whilst studying Occupational Therapy full time (with research honours), working as disability carer and support worker, AND fighting an endless battle against chronic illness. Plus, she has to put up with me every day! 🤷🏼♂️
I cannot wait to see where this road leads her and I couldn’t be prouder to see my girl chasing her dreams!
If you want to catch a show before she’s too famous for Townsville, go check out Tali Rain’s gig guide!
I’m pretty sure you can tell what genre she sings by the Akubra Hats | Australian Icons hat and lack of shoes in these pics, but just incase, drop a guess in the comments! Or better yet, suggest a song for her to cover!
