Winter is quietly becoming one of my favourite seasons to photograph families.

The sun sets earlier, which means no keeping little ones up well past bedtime for that beautiful golden light.
The beaches and parks are quieter, giving your family more space to relax, play and simply enjoy being together.
The light is softer, creating a timeless, dreamy feel that looks beautiful in every gallery.
And with cosy knits, layered textures and earthy tones, winter has a magic all of its own.

Some of my favourite family photographs have been taken on crisp winter evenings, wrapped in cuddles, chasing little feet through the sand, and soaking up the last of the gentle afternoon light.

The season might feel quieter, but that’s exactly what makes it so special.

“What if my toddler won’t sit still?”

The truth is, I don’t expect them to. 🤎

Children were never meant to sit perfectly still and smile at a camera. They’re curious, playful and constantly exploring the world around them—and that’s exactly what makes them wonderful to photograph.

In this moment, I wasn’t asking her to look at me or smile on command. I was playing with her and getting ready to roll a little firetruck her way. Her expression, Mum and Dad’s smiles, and the connection between them all happened naturally.

That’s how I approach every family session.

You’ll never hear me asking your little one to “say cheese” over and over. Instead, I use games, movement, silly noises and playful prompts that encourage genuine connection and real smiles.

The result? Photographs that feel joyful, relaxed and authentically your family.

So if you’re worried your toddler won’t “behave” for photos, please don’t be. Some of my favourite images come from letting little ones be exactly who they are.

One of the questions I’m asked most often is...
“How do you keep my baby safe during a newborn session?”
As a parent, handing your precious newborn over to someone else can feel like a big step—especially when it’s often one of the very first times you’ve left the house together.
Your baby’s safety and wellbeing will always be my highest priority.
Before every session, my studio is thoroughly cleaned using natural, baby-safe cleaning products, with wraps, blankets and clothing freshly laundered and sanitised between every family.
Throughout your session, your baby is never placed into unsafe positions. I only use gentle, baby-led posing that prioritises their comfort, and we’ll always take breaks for feeds, cuddles or settling whenever they’re needed.
For added peace of mind, I’m fully vaccinated and hold a current HLTAID012 Childcare First Aid & CPR qualification.
My goal is for you to walk through the studio doors feeling completely at ease, knowing your little one is being cared for with the same patience, gentleness and attention I’d want for my own family.

Some journeys come full circle. 🤍

Rafailo’s story began long before he arrived.

His beautiful mum grew up here in Geelong before travelling to Serbia, where she met the love of her life. Together they built a beautiful life and family there, but when it came time to welcome their newest little boy into the world, she returned home to Geelong to be surrounded by family for his arrival.

I was so lucky to meet this gorgeous family and capture their sibling connection.

Watching four little siblings together was something truly special. The excitement, the gentle cuddles, the newborn stares… moments that can never be recreated.

It’s easy to think you’ll always remember these days exactly as they are. But the newborn stage is fleeting, and before long, the tiny baby in your arms is running beside their brothers and sisters.

Photographs become more than beautiful images. They become part of your family’s story, preserving not only how this season looked, but the journey that brought you here.

If you’re expecting, I recommend booking your newborn session during your second trimester to ensure availability. Your session is pencilled into my calendar around your due date, and once your baby arrives, we simply adjust the date if needed.

One of the things that sets my work apart happens long after your session ends. ✨

Every image in your gallery is individually hand-edited.

Not to change who you are, but to remove the little distractions that pull attention away from the moment itself.
