Ten Years in the Making
One of the main reasons behind my trip to New York last November was to capture this photograph.
Ten years earlier, while visiting a Peter Lik Fine Art Photography gallery in Las Vegas, I saw an incredible image taken from beneath the Manhattan Bridge. From that moment, I knew I wanted to travel to New York and capture my own version of this iconic view.
A decade later, standing beneath the bridge with my camera, I finally accomplished what I had set out to do.
Some photographs are about more than the final image—they are about the inspiration, the journey and the years it takes to make them happen.
