One of Australia’s most iconic lighthouses. Its doorway reads “Olim periculum — nunc salus” — “Once a danger, now safe.”

Built between 1899 and 1901, the Cape Byron Lighthouse guided ships past the treacherous reefs of Australia’s easternmost point after countless wrecks along the coast.

A place shaped by history, light and the edge of the ocean — the perfect backdrop for a portrait photoshoot.

Rain draped over Norah Head Lighthouse, softening the world into shades of grey. Completed in 1903, the last colonial‑built lighthouse on the NSW coast felt even more timeless under the gloomy sky.

A moody day, a lonely tower, and a few frames I couldn’t resist capturing. 📸
