A little reminder that photographers are human, too. π€
We have bad days, get sick, feel overwhelmed, and have whole lives happening behind the scenes.
Weβre business owners, yes, but weβre also mums, partners, and people trying to find a little balance between work and the life weβre living outside of it.
Your familyβs memories mean SO much to me. I know how much these photographs will mean as the years go by, and I never take for granted the trust you place in me to capture your people.
But my own familyβs memories matter just as much.
Iβm currently travelling with my family, trying to be present and soak up this time together while also keeping my little business ticking along.
Every single image I deliver is lovingly hand edited, and that takes time. So far on this trip, Iβve fully edited and delivered 16 galleries while trying to make sure Iβm actually enjoying some downtime with my own family, too.
I love what I do. I love the families I photograph and the memories I get to preserve for them. But Iβm also trying to give my own family the same thing I help so many others hold onto β memories of the life weβre living right now.
Sometimes emails slip through the cracks. Sometimes things take a little longer than expected. It doesnβt mean I donβt care. It means Iβm human, too.
I believe in showing up for my clients and taking my responsibilities seriously, but I also believe there should be room for a little grace and understanding. Being professional doesnβt mean being available every minute of every day, and loving what you do doesnβt mean putting your own life on hold.
So, if youβre waiting on an email or your gallery, thank you for your patience. I promise I havenβt forgotten how much these memories mean.
Your familyβs memories matter deeply to me. But so do mine. And Iβm learning that itβs okay to make room for both. π€
