Meet the Hollis family. Olivia and James moved from London to Perth not so long ago, and after life got busy settling in, it had been over three years since their last family photos.

Their daughter's gone from a two week old newborn to a "real little human" with a big personality, and their terrier Bruce (who made the move from London too) is very much part of the family 🐾

James will tell you he's not a fan of being in front of a camera, but Olivia knew exactly what she wanted; this family, as they are right now, and their new Perth life captured before it changes again.

Meet the Pethebridge family. I photographed Geri and Liam's wedding back in 2017, and now they're back with their fearless, cheeky four year old girl and their rescue Frenchie, Coco. She was in a pretty horrid way when they connected with her but is now living her absolute best life as a valued family member.

During their photo reveal appointment, Liam got a bit emotional sharing Coco's rescue story... and honestly, so did I.

Everyone around them always comments on their connection, and Ruth wanted to finally see what everyone else sees... Daniel's a self confessed introvert who's "awkward on camera", but the second Ruth's around, he can't help but smile 🥰

Meet the Glass-Dodd family. Emily and Michael had been waiting for the "perfect time" for family photos, between two little boys, life, and everything in between, but that perfect time just kept moving. Then their youngest's first birthday crept up fast and they realised waiting for perfect was just costing them the chapter they actually wanted to capture.

Their oldest (a boy who says no to everything except a good ball or an Avengers reference) and their youngest (the resident expert in waving and being adorable about it) made for the most joyful, chaotic, completely real session.

Meet the Bower family. Erin and Trent welcomed twin boys this year, and they came to me wanting to capture them while they're still tiny enough to disappear into your arms. Add their gorgeous dog into the mix and it made for the most joyful session.

Funnily enough, this family actually found me through this very competition last round, when they voted for friends and got curious about having their own photos taken. Now they've got their own gorgeous family photos to show for it 🥰

I wouldn’t have done most of this editing if this photo was only being ordered as a digital copy 💾

But it’s not going on a phone or a computer… It’s going on a wall, and being printed HUGE in Geri and Liam’s home where they’ll walk past it every single day for years.

So it gets treated like the artwork it is 🖼️

“I just feel it in my gut.”

That’s what Olivia said to me when I asked her why she booked me.

She couldn’t quite elaborate as she’s been a stay-at-home mum for 3 years, so words weren’t coming so easily, but she just knew it felt right. And that’s good enough for me! 🥰

They’ve recently moved from London, and the last time they had professional photos done, were when Iona was just a 2-week-old newborn. Now she’s full of personality, laughs at fart noises and adores flowers.

They even brought their beloved dog Bruce with them from London, so he was non-negotiable during their family session 🐕

Their new home had blank walls and a gut feeling that this new Perth chapter deserved to be on them.

While it’s not ready just yet, they have a beautiful montage of 3 photos which will take pride and place above their bed, so Olivia gets to walk it past it several times a day to admire.

Turns out her gut feeling was spot on 😘
