A few images from a recent photoshoot for Jaymie Maley of the_angophora_project sculptural installation at The Public Art Gallery

The Angophora Project brought together locals from Bouddi Bushcare, Mingaletta, Fairhaven Services & Studio Gossie who, led by Jaymie as creative arts mentor, explored multiple art languages through workshops in sculpture, gestural works on paper, movement & dance in response to the natural environment. Each community member then made a sculpture encased with paper pulp & dyed with the bark of local Angophora trees. These sculptures came together in this walk-thru’ installation at The Public Gallery Umina.

A beautiful project, an immersive exhibition, a challenging photo shoot made possible (and fun) through Jaymie’s generous collaborative approach.
I truly enjoy helping artists document their work; it’s such a creative, joyful process! 🙂

Last night’s Hunter Emerging Art Prize 🏆 celebration Newcastle Art Space, Australia was a humdinger! Loads of lovely people amassed inside a beautiful exhibition of worthy emerging artist works.
👏Congrats to my brother Adam Faulkner on his finalist berth in the sculpture category (images 1 & 2). Well done to all the category winners 💪 & especially the overall 🥇 of HEAP 2026 Nick Barlow…such beautiful work. 🤩
Huge thank you to the wonderful NAS staff team (there’s only 3 & geez they work hard!) and amazing volunteers who keep the good vibes & wine flowing at these types of events.
You’ve got a couple of weeks to see the HEAP exhibition, now in it’s 25th year. Don’t miss it. .

Thank you to Clare Weeks and Brydie Piaf for curating 20 individual photographic and/or video creations into something elevated beyond the sum of its parts. 💪
Great to see so many WHIPpers at the opening last night, and what a tremendous group of artists in this epic exhibition. Highly recommend you visit!
And thank you to my beautiful daughter & niece who came along to support me on a chilly night. ❄️
‘The drift’
Over summer, I became devoted to capturing images of coastal saltwater gardens, to draw attention to their fragile beauty and encourage a deeper appreciation of the significance and ecological importance of these complex, vital habitats. Firmly focused on the ocean floor, I almost missed capturing this image of dislodged yet elegant seaweed, both intimate and expansive.
