Photo of the Day

Nobby's Beach, Newcastle.
It was pre-sunrise and I was up early for work. I hadn't been out to photography anything for over a month, so that's what drove me to take this shot. And, I made the most of it by heading to one our most iconic places, Nobby's Beach & Nobby's Lighthouse. This image was taken at 05:25am at the height of the Summer season when colours are amazing and the Earth is refreshed from the day before. This is a single 30-second exposure at f/10 with an ISO of 160. I edited it in Lightroom and left the ghosting birds to show movement through time. I lifted shadows, lowered the highlights, and selectively masked many parts of the image for an even, controlled finish.
