Meet Nioka Downey — a gifted young Australian pianist and violinist with an exciting musical journey ahead.

Nioka began studying both instruments as a child and, by seven, was already performing publicly. Since then, her dedication has led to some wonderful achievements, including winning the age-14 section of the 2023 Queensland Piano Competition and placing second in the 2025 Marilyn Meier Chopin Award.

In 2026, she appeared as an emerging violinist at Bach Unwrapped and travelled to Italy’s Music Fest Perugia, where she performed at the piano with an orchestra. She is now expanding into chamber music as part of a newly formed piano trio.

We recently photographed Nioka as part of a personal-branding package designed to support the next stage of her career.
Together, we created a collection of portraits that celebrate her personality, professionalism, and deep love of the piano, violin, and music.

It was a privilege to capture this exciting moment in Nioka’s journey — and we can’t wait to see where her talent takes her next.
