Most wedding photographers can show you 20 amazing photos.
That’s not the hard part.
The real question is: can they deliver consistently for an entire wedding day?
Start by asking for a full gallery, not just Instagram highlights. You want to see how they handle everything, harsh sunlight, dark receptions, messy family group shots, and fast-moving moments. A strong photographer doesn’t just perform in perfect conditions.
Pay attention to communication early on.
Are they replying clearly? Are they answering your questions properly, or just sending generic responses? If things already feel slow, vague, or confusing now… it usually doesn’t get better closer to the wedding.
Another thing, notice how they guide you.
Do they help with timeline suggestions? Do they explain how the day could flow better for photos? Or do they just say “yeah that’s fine” to everything? Experience shows in how much they CARE ABOUT YOUR DAY, not just showing up with a camera.
At the end of the day, you’re not just hiring someone to take photos.
You’re trusting someone to capture moments you can’t redo.
If something feels off early, trust that feeling.

Oof, this weekend’s heat is *doing the most* ☀️🔥
Perfect reminder if you’re getting married in warm weather, think comfort first (and photos will thank you).

**Things to provide for a summer wedding:**

* ☂️ **Umbrellas / parasols** – shade = happy faces, better photos
* 🧴 **Sunscreen** for outdoor ceremonies
* 🧊 **Cold drinks / hydration station**
* 🪭 **Hand fans** for guests
* 😎 **Shaded spots** for waiting & photo time

A little prep goes a long way, your guests stay comfy, your vendors survive, and you actually enjoy your day instead of melting through it.

⬇️ HOW LONG📸? ⬇️ everytime someone asking "how long should we book our photographer for" or "how long do we actually need a wedding photographer?"
based on my exp, heres a breakdown:

- getting ready session, 60mins, each
- ceremony, 30mins
- family photos, 30mins
- photo session 60mins
- ceremony the rest of coverage (may include entrance, speeches, cake cutting, first dance, bouquet throwing, garter toss, candids, more dances, more photos, exit/farewell
NOTE: this is just a recommendation, your need may need a tailored schedule. chat with your photographer to get the best result.
