Until the heat of the sun is felt the cows and the boys don’t move far from the fires in the cattle camps. The connection that the boys have with the cows is quite remarkable.

The traditional lip plates of the Surma tribe is now being discontinued by the younger generation of girls. Easily removed and always carried with them, these lip plates are made of clay. You can read more about their lip plates on one of my past blog posts.

The Dassanech tribe are Ethiopias most southern tribe and many of their villages around the Omo Delta and Lake Turkana have had to relocate in the last few years due to unexpected rising water levels.
