stepping into the precious postpartum newborn bubble isn’t something I take lightly. it’s a sacred space and such a privilege to be welcomed in. I’m not the kind of photographer who will take over that space with a million ideas, ask you to change outfits or try heaps of different poses. but if your looking for someone to simply document the haze of emotion, the sleepy cuddles, the sibling love, and capture the feeling of being in your home with your family at such a special time, that’s me.

the start of forever.

in the hallways of this beautiful old hotel.

some more cinematic imagery from this elopement.

im always nervous to share the more arty ones because art is subjective you know, and the ones that I love the most might not resonate as much as the more classic pretty photos.

but truthfully ? I derive so much joy from pushing myself a bit creatively to find different angles and stories, those spots where the light hits, to create beauty from a place or feeling that hasn’t really been explored before. I love the subtle moments too, where the emotion might not be so obvious but it’s still there.

it’s my favourite way to shoot, so I’m sharing these in the hopes that all the arty types will find me and book me and allow me to keep creating. ☺️

A beautiful creative maternity session celebrating the last weeks before becoming a family of four.

When Neena reached out with this idea I was so keen! It was gorgeous seeing how excited her son is to meet his new sibling.

The loveliest feedback I’ve been getting from clients lately is how much fun they have during their sessions and how comfortable they feel with me in their home.

I have a few more in home maternity sessions in the calendar and I honestly can’t wait this is such a precious time and it’s such a privilege to be able to document it for you.

I fear this elopement has me deceased. The hotel vibes, the dress, the city streets. The whole thing has my heart as a creative storytelling documentary photographer who also loves an editorial moment. Charlotte + Rueben made this day so much fun + it was such a joy to capture their love.

A stunning afternoon city elopement on the last day of autumn, these two beautiful people said their vows and exchanged rings in the old treasury building and then we had so much fun exploring the gardens, the city architecture and the gorgeous hotel, a day we won’t forget.

At home with and her beautiful family ❤️

A few things I know about doing photos at home
- don’t stress about tidying everything, we can move things like the baby wipes out of the photo easily enough.
- there will be moments of chaos and calm and that is completely normal (trust me most family sessions feel a bit chaotic)
- your kids won’t always cooperate, it’s my job to catch the sweet inbetween moments and create some fun
- always include the dog for a couple photos, they’re part of the family too
- it might feel like everything went wrong, the baby was fussy and needed feeding a million times, I promise the photos will still be amazing 🩷🩷🩷🙏🏻🙏🏻☺️☺️

Grandparents are soooo precious. They make the everyday moments feel magical. A cookie from the special jar, a well loved board game, a favourite book. Always on hand with an extra cuddle, little presents, and forever my kids biggest cheerleaders and encouragers.

Loved this little shoot (we had about twenty minutes before Henry entered the tired and cranky stage after skipping a nap) with his grandparents in their cosy home. ❤️

Whenever I get a family booking, or a Mum with kids I’ll always suggest doing an activity or two that you’ll enjoy together, it completely takes the pressure off having to smile and perform for the camera, and instead your kids will almost forget I’m there, they will just love having your full attention for an hour while they do something fun.

These kind of documentary storytelling vibes get the best results! You’re capturing all the love and affection that exists between you but in a way that’s really natural and candid.
