Tip if starting out birding.
Don’t plant your feet..…. MOVE. Sometimes if we move a foot, two or three, we get a better composition and light. Miss a shot because you moved, that’s okay.

Swing and a miss!
Green Cape Lighthouse

We watched two White Bellied Sea Eagles fishing, it is amazing how many times they lined up a potential catch, only to fly down and come back up talons empty.

The wind was CRAZY!!!! It was hard holding our cameras still, it was blowing every bit of 60km’s and hour. Our shutter speeds were fast and our ISO high due to stormy weather….. all part of the adventure.

Green Cape Lighthouse

Greg Greg Wyncoll and I headed out to Green Cape Lighthouse to capture some Humpback Whales migrating South, instead we watched a pair of White Bellied Sea Eagles diving into schools of fish.

The wind was CRAZY!!!! It was hard holding our cameras still, it was blowing every bit of 60km’s an hour. Out of around 400 photos, I got three keepers (one yet to be posted). I felt so lucky 🍀 and we left feeling pretty amazed by what we had experienced.

These are two different fish catches by the WBSE’s, taken about 45 minutes apart.

On a dark night, the sky and waters edge glowed….

What a night!
During my September Eden Whales & Seascapes Photography Tour we got very lucky with bioluminescence in the Nullica River mouth. With a setting Milky Way Galactic Core.

Shot on my EOR R with Canon RF 20mm f1.4 lens.

Sometimes the moments don’t feel real…..
Sapphire Coast, NSW

I love days when the swells up, in my experience the whales become more surface active.
On this day it was fairly overcast, but we had small pockets of sunlight.

This shot caught my eye, the choppy ocean, the dullness of the frame, except for this huge Humpback Whale that almost kinda looks edited into the frame with that magical water being whipped away in the wind as it comes off the whales pectoral fins.

I love the challenge of Whale photography. Getting these shots aren’t easy, but gosh they are rewarding.

It’s not everyday you see a Humpback Whale 🐋 totally out of the water 💧
What a belly whacker! You should have heard the sound as it hit the water.
I’m sure we would have had tears 😭

Capture Humpback Whales as they migrate to Antarctica.
Capture seabirds like Albatross and maybe even a White Bellied Sea Eagle.
Capture some local seascapes from aboard the boat and from land.

On the last night of my October Eden Whales & Seascapes Photography Tour 🐋🐋 we were treated to fireworks from the balcony of the house I hire.

We were ready and set…. Waiting for go time. A great way to finish off the last night of the tour.
