A view from behind the facade pipes of the 1893 Fincham & Hobday organ, a feature of the Keys of Gold festivals.

It's a small & fine organ, essentially original, very neatly constructed, & shoehorned into a small northern chamber, from which it speaks remarkably well, owing to the thick stone of this attractive church.

The ranks of pipes sitting on the windchest are those of the Great division (the lower of the 2 keyboards), with its principal sound, the Open Diapason 8', facing into the church.

One of the historic & valuable organs to which Keys of Gold is dedicated to helping preserve. This 1882 Alfred Fuller of 15 ranks is a fine example of the builder's excellent voicing, & speaks into the superb acoustic of the Long Gully Uniting church, itself a significant Vahland & Getzschmann edifice.

Weekend 3 revisit: Masahide Kurita in concert with Thomas Heywood (who accompanied on the organ shown in the previous post), in the fine acoustic of the Uniting Church.

Not only beautiful sounds & music-making, but for me, the light was exceptional too, making my job very easy.

Bottom C of the Double Open Wood 32', mitred to fit under the ceiling of the cavernous north chamber; it is quite generous in scale - around 48 x 43 cm; the stop was originally (in 1904) labelled Contra Open Diapason.
