Our latest wedding seen Justin and Annette finally tie the knot at Saltwater at Bundilla, surrounded by their closest friends, family…
These two first met as 15-year-olds at Army Cadets. Life did its thing, sent them in different directions, and years later their paths crossed again. Proof that sometimes your forever person is your person all along… Just with a few plot twists and detours first.
Now if there was one thing on the wedding brief, it was FUN. And this crew understood the assignment from Getting Ready it commenced.
Then came bridal photos at East Point...
Someone casually says, “Imagine if we could get a horse in the photos — Annette loves horses.”
Cue Bec activation mode.
In the distance I spot a rider. So there I am — two cameras swinging, dodgy foot, sun blinding me, sprinting across a field looking like a caffeinated emu yelling, “EXCUSE ME!”
As I get closer I recognise the horse… then the face… then the white blaze.
No way.
It was someone I actually knew out for a casual Saturday ride.
“Hey… any chance Gunner wants to make a wedding appearance?”
Absolute legend Jade rolled with it, brought Gunner over, and suddenly we created one of those completely unplanned moments that become unforgettable.
Next minute? Bridesmaids crying. Bride emotional. Everyone overwhelmed - well the girls only. Full feelings everywhere.
And meanwhile I’m standing there thinking, “Excellent… accidental emotional damage.”
But honestly, that’s the stuff I’ll do for my couples. Sprint through paddocks, lay on the ground getting sprayed with champagne, nearly get trampled, chase random ideas that somehow become magic…
Because every single time, the genuine laughter, chaos and real moments are worth it.
