Meet Fifi Fogg from Coastal Mermaids! She’s Australia’s very first and only mermaid photographer, bringing a splash of magic to every photograph.

Let me share a bit about myself. I was born and raised on the stunning Kangaroo Island, off the coast of South Australia. Growing up, I embraced the best of both worlds, freely exploring the land and the sea, which fueled my passion for nature and marine life. I spent countless hours searching for little crabs and shells, immersing myself in the wonders of the environment. I have always had a deep appreciation for art and photography. After taking photography courses in high school, I rediscovered my love for it later in life after becoming a parent. Initially, I found portrait, family, and wedding photography to be quite repetitive and lacking a creative spark. Everything changed when my 5-year-old daughter saw an enchanting image of a mermaid online and expressed her desire to recreate that magical moment. Inspired, I crafted my first mermaid tail from an old pair of white leggings, and the response was overwhelming! People were captivated, eager to embrace the fantasy of being a mermaid themselves. That's how Coastal Mermaids was born in 2012. Since then, my creations have evolved into fully functional tails perfect for swimming and splashing in the water, making dreams come true for many. I'm putting together something a little different for my maternity photography collection, and I'm looking for one expectant mum who would love to step into a magical fairytale. 🧚‍♀️

Think flowing romantic gowns, delicate fairy wings, floral crowns, enchanting locations and dreamy, cinematic photographs.

This will be a fully styled fantasy maternity experience, with everything planned to create something truly special.

Your experience includes:

🌸 Beautiful fantasy gown or costume

🧚‍♀️ Fairy wings, crowns and accessories

🌿 Hair styling, wigs or extensions if desired

✨ Eye makeup and lashes (just arrive with your base makeup applied)

📸 Approximately 60 minutes of photography

This year has been a bit of a rough one in a lot of ways, and somewhere in the middle of everything I really needed something fun and creative to focus on.

So… I started writing children’s books 😂

What started as something just for me and the boys has now turned into a whole Harry & Eli adventure series, based on so many parts of our real life like moving to Darwin, fishing, crocs, wet season storms, noisy nights, sailing and all the random funny little adventures that seem to happen with these two.

The books follow Harry the Mischief Maker and Eli the Clever One, plus a few furry family members, on their adventures around the Top End.

I honestly had no big plan when I started. I just wanted to create something special for the boys and have a fun little project of my own, but the more I’ve worked on them, the more I’ve started thinking they might actually have some potential.

So before I get too carried away and disappear completely down the printing rabbit hole 😂 I thought I’d put a little feeler out there.

Would anyone actually be interested in buying a copy if I did a small first print run?

I’m thinking maybe a little pre-sale/first edition run to start with, probably one or two books first and then the others after that.

There’s no payment or commitment at this stage, I’m just genuinely curious to see if there would be enough interest to make getting them printed worthwhile.

There’s something pretty magical about finding a merboy in the middle of the tropical bush 🌴🧜‍♂️✨

This gorgeous little mermaid climbed into the unique pool tank at Dundee Beach and honestly… could there be a more perfect spot for a Coastal Mermaids shoot?

Surrounded by palms, lush greenery and that relaxed Dundee Beach feel, this was such a fun location to photograph.

Captured in collaboration with a beautiful little tropical escape that feels made for mermaid adventures. 💚🌊

A birthday wish came true at Nightcliff Beach ✨🧜‍♀️
This gorgeous little mermaid wished to become a real mermaid for her birthday, so we made a little bit of magic happen by the sea. 💙
With her tail on, crown sparkling and the beautiful Nightcliff coastline behind her, she looked completely at home in her mermaid world.
There’s something pretty special about getting to turn a child’s imagination into memories they can actually keep. 🐚✨

🧜‍♀️ Mermaid magic at Dundee Beach 🌅

There’s something pretty special about being a mermaid as the sun disappears over the ocean. ✨

We had the most beautiful afternoon at Two Mermaids Beach Shack, creating a little Coastal Mermaids magic on the beaches of Dundee.

Mermaid tails, sandy toes, seashells and that incredible Top End sunset… honestly, could there be a more perfect setting? 🧜‍♀️🌴🌊

I absolutely loved photographing these beautiful girls — and I especially love that mermaid sessions don't have to be just for the kids. Mums can jump in a tail too! Some of my favourite photographs are the ones where Mum gets to be part of the magic instead of standing behind the camera. 💕

A huge thank you to for having us and collaborating with Coastal Mermaids. The shack is such a gorgeous little escape, with the beach right there, beautiful sunsets, fishing, a pool and plenty of places to explore.
