Came home today to a lovely email from the Australian Photography Landscape Awards saying my entry titled Swirling Sands has received a commended award. I have included the image from Hill Inlet on Whitsunday Island. 🏆

Last year I was fortunate to receive a Highly Commended in the Australian Photography Mono Awards and its lovely to have industry experts and peers recognise our work behind the cameras. 📸

Today I had a fascinating conversation with a beautiful family.

Last year mum asked her 6 year old daughter what would you like for Christmas?

Her daughter thought about the question for a couple of seconds and said “I don’t think I need anything but it would be nice to have a family photo.”

Her mum not expecting this reply was genuinely surprised but delighted with the thought that had gone into the suggestion.
