Friday Flashback - February 2018

Redbank Plains Madness. This supercell dropped a perfectly timed bolt, then smashed thru the area and I had to ride the storm out.

This one made the Courier Mail which is pretty cool 😊

Storm season is coming again, be sure to be prepared.

Cheers! Murray

Storm season is coming again and I for one can't wait to get out there chasing and getting more amazing photos and videos! All my gear is being prepped, new tools implemented and the goal is bigger and better everything this time around!

Did you know you can watch all of the 2025/2026 season as a complete show?

Recommend you have a nice evening with your favourite beverage(s) and binge and enjoy!! 😁

And a reminder, now is the perfect time to prepare, get your home storm ready, have an emergency kit and backup plan in place and please, Storm Chasing can be extremely dangerous, treat mother nature with the utmost care.

Moonset, Mist and Milkyway!

This is the full moon dropping behind the paddock near Deepwater, NSW on the Northern Tablelands. That orange glow on the horizon isn't the sun, it's moonlight. At around 3am the bush was dead silent, frost forming on the grass, and the Milky Way was still hanging right above the horizon.

I love moments like that seem impossible are aren't!

Watch the full video of my Frost Chase where this and many other photos are captured. Link in the description below! πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

If you love big Australian skies and quiet country nights, I'd love you to follow along here at Murray Fox Photography β€” I've always got new photos to share :)

Feel free to share this one and tag someone who needs a little quiet tonight.

Friday Flashback - June 2016

The light after a passing storm can be absolutely amazing at times.

Add in the fact that this paddock is normally bone dry and all of that water appeared in just 30 minutes, this is a photo I don't think I'll ever be able to recreate again.

Storm season coming soon and I'm already prepping for it πŸ˜πŸ‘

Frosty Infrared - I thought it would be interesting to see what frost looked like in Infrared and it worked out pretty well I think.

Normally living plants will reflect the infrared turning white, with bark, wood, roads, sky etc going darker as they don't reflect the light. What the frost did was even out the reflection across all of the ground and leaves in the trees which was very cool.

I kept this one with a bit of colour rather than going full black and white, showing off those beautiful blues in the sky.

Finally, the repeating trees just made this image for me, what do you think?

Friday Flashback - December 2017 and what a flash!!

One of my favourite lightning photos ever. Captured near Harrisville south of Ipswich here in Qld, the sunset to the west of this storm was giving amazing colours. Add in that amazing burst of lightning and it was, well, brilliant 😁

I'm looking forward to the coming storm season and capturing many more moments like this. Be sure to follow my page to enjoy them with me!

Sometimes you see something and you just have to stop and grab the camera. Even if it's 2am, -5 degrees and in the middle of a highway in the middle of nowhere!

Well somewhere south of Tenterfield NSW to be sure! The moon was setting perfectly in line with the highway and the core of the Milkway was still visitble above it even with the light! It's not very often I can capture such a scene, stoked to have gotten this one. Another adventure with Jason Ng Photography :)

What do you think? If I didn't know better I'd think a truck was coming 🀣

Be sure you're following my page to see all my photographs and adventures, there are a lot of people giving me fantastic support but not following and I'd be sad if you missed all the fun. It's honestly greatly appreciated.

I visited the Lost World, a stunning area in the Scenic Rim of Queensland on the border of NSW. The goal? Capture the Milkyway under amazing dark skies with one of the best landscapes this area has to offer! Check out my page Murray Fox Photography to see the results and follow my page for these and many more Night, Astro, Weather and Landscape photography adventures!
