One of my favourite parts of photographing families is seeing sessions through the eyes of little ones 🤍

Their perspective on the world can be so different to ours, and I love making them feel involved in more ways than just standing and posing for a photo.

Making sessions interactive, playful and interesting helps little ones actually want to be there, want to be involved, and it makes the whole experience feel more relaxed and enjoyable for mum and dad too. It makes everyone want to do it all over again in a few years time 😅

But seriously kids bring so much imagination, curiosity, chaos, softness and personality into every session and honestly, those are usually the moments that end up meaning the most. I love it 🥰

This moment absolutely melted my heart 💗

A little business update from me 🤍

If you’ve been around here for a while, you’d know I’ve spent a long time trying to juggle all the moving parts of business through Instagram and Facebook messages… and honestly? Meta Business Suite has tested my patience more times than I can count 🫠

Lately I’ve been making a really conscious effort to improve my work/life balance this year. Not just working harder, but working better. Creating systems that help me feel more organised, more present, and less constantly “on”.

Part of that has been simplifying the way I take bookings.

Moving to direct booking links, website enquiries and email submissions means:
- less missed messages
- clearer communication
- up-to-date availability
- a smoother experience for both you and me

But I also want to reassure everyone that just because my booking process is changing, it doesn’t mean I’m suddenly less available or less present for my clients 🤍

I’ll absolutely still be here to help with questions, support during the booking process, session preparation, outfit advice, reschedules, nervous kiddos, “what do I even wear?” messages and all the little things in between. That part of my business will never change.

This business means so much to me, and so does the experience my clients have from start to finish. I’m always trying to grow, improve and make things feel a little easier and more intentional. I’m not entirely sure if this is going to be the right move but I know what I’m currently doing isn’t working for either myself or my amazing clients.

Recently I started renovating the studio space and somehow got so caught up in how I thought it needed to look that I completely lost my creativity for a little while.

Pressed pause, shot a quick session… and honestly? I’m obsessed with how it turned out. ✨

There’s something about stepping away that brings everything back into focus 🤍 it’s been a CRAZY few weeks so it was so nice to just step away for a moment.

Our little Easter escape to Denham was exactly what we needed… slower mornings, salty air, family time, and the kind of moments you wish you could bottle up forever.

This time, I made a real effort to just enjoy it.
To have fun with my camera again, try things, not overthink it… and actually sit down and edit a few of the photos while we were there.

And I think that’s what I needed most.
To slow down enough to be present in it all, not just capturing it. Although I can’t wait to get home to our fur babies! The break has been great but I’m missing them.

A little reminder (for you and me)…
you deserve to be in these memories, not just behind them 🤍

Recently I spent the day wandering around R&R Bus Retreat with my camera, getting to know Charles and Betsy. Honestly, they’ve got more personality than some people I know. 😆 Bright, vibrant and full of character!

There’s something really grounding about photographing a space that’s designed to slow you down. Quiet corners, thoughtful details, and that calm Ferguson Valley energy that makes you breathe a little deeper without even realising it. 🌿

Simon and Judith have poured so much heart into this place, and you can feel it, especially in Betsy, the bus that started it all. Nothing rushed, nothing forced. Just a beautiful little retreat doing exactly what it’s meant to do.

These are the kinds of shoots I love most. Turning up, taking my time, and capturing places exactly as they are, character, quirks and all 🤍
