Afrikaans Name: Woestynklopkloppie
Description: Often identified by its dry chick-chick-chick call and its preference for dry grassland habitat, particularly with Stipagrostis grass.
Behavior: It is one of the smaller "klopkloppies" in the region, usually foraging low down for insects like grasshoppers and spiders.
Habitat: It is common in dry areas of South Africa, including the Kalahari, but not the semi-arid southwest, according to SANParks and biodiversity explorer.

African Fish Eagle
In August 2014, while visiting Kruger National Park, we were making our way back to Lower Sabie Rest Camp. With a little time to spare before the 18:00 gate closure, we decided to pause at Sunset Dam.
As we were quietly photographing the surrounding wildlife, an African Fish Eagle suddenly appeared, soaring gracefully over the dam. It circled above us again and again, its presence both powerful and serene.
It was an unforgettable sight—and we were fortunate enough to capture some truly beautiful moments of this iconic bird in flight.

African Paradise Flycatcher.
