We will hear a lot about Father’s Day with the word “Happy” attached on the front end, and I am good with that, but I also wanted to remind you all that this day is not happy for all.

Some have fathers that abandoned them as a child or even as an adult. Some have fathers that are absolute tyrants. Some have fathers that chose alcohol and drugs over them. Some have fathers that abused their mothers. Some have fathers that abused them physically or emotionally or both. This list could go on.

So please remember those whose day might not be happy and may they be reminded that there is a Heavenly Father (God) who makes all things new and is so absolutely good.

Some days are hard. Some moments are tough. Some weeks are relentlessly difficult. And those times can either crush us under their weight or can teach us lessons about strength, perseverance, and faith in Jesus. We might feel the lowest of lows, but as long as we keep crawling and fighting and trusting Jesus, that crawl will turn into a walk that keeps driving us forward onto better times and better days where we will be better for having not quit. And when those dangerous days come upon us again, we will be ready for them and we will know that we can make it because we not only have strength, but because we also, and most importantly, have the strength of Jesus in our lives.
