To me the perfect photo isn’t necessarily a “perfect” photo.

It isn’t always technically flawless either.

Perfect exposure. Perfect focus. Perfect composition. Everyone looking at the camera. No awkward hands, no movement, no distractions.

But does it make you feel something?

Because photography is so much more than getting everything “right.”

Sometimes the photo that stays with you is the one that’s slightly imperfect. The one where someone is laughing too hard to look at the camera. Where the wind has messed up their hair. Where a child is running out of frame or a face full of marshmallows. Where the light isn’t textbook perfect… but the moment is!

The definition of the perfect photograph is completely subjective.

For me it’s the one that takes you back.

Back to how it felt.
Back to who you were with.
Back to that exact moment in time.
