Let's have this conversation.
This should have been a moment where we stood back and realised how far this child has come. It should have been a moment where we realised hard work makes the dream work. We should have seen the growth and the talent and the magnitude of the success this young girl from OUR communities has come. We should have seen how many of our children will see representation and know singing on that Barbie mic or kicking that soccer ball can change their lives forever.
I hope you saw that and that you heard her do a great job and didn't sit there on your couch and criticise.
This post is because instead of seeing this girl opening doors for others, you were saying at least she's dressed and pres should have taken this one or that one. Hou op. Do you not see how big this was for a proudly coloured kid who is now and global star?
