Currently somewhere between Lightroom, coffee and 100GB of RAW files. 😂

2 schools. 181 kids. 3 families...
And one photographer who may or may not have lost her voice somewhere along the way. 😂

But, what a lovely week in Winterton. 🤎
Catching up with old friends, meeting familiar and new faces, and even getting to photograph in the canola fields for the first time — something I’ve wanted to do for ages. 🌼

Feeling very blessed to be able to do what I love. ✨

🤍 Wedding Tip #4 — Give your first dance a little more time.

I know it can feel a little awkward dancing alone while everyone is watching. 🤍

But if you can, resist the urge to call everyone onto the dance floor after the first 30 seconds.

Let yourselves have that moment.
Dance through a good portion — or even the whole song — just the two of you.

It gives you a chance to settle into the moment, enjoy each other, and forget that everyone is watching.

And from behind the camera, it gives me the opportunity to capture the little things — the smiles, the laughter, the way you look at each other — the moments you might otherwise miss.

You only get one first dance.
Let it last a little longer. 🤍

🤍 Wedding Tip #3 — Let the moments happen.

Not every photograph needs to be perfectly posed.

Some of the most beautiful images happen when you simply walk together, laugh, talk, hold hands and forget about the camera for a moment.

Your wedding day will be full of little moments you won't even realise are happening — and those are often the ones you'll treasure most.
So don't worry about getting every pose right.

Just be present. Be together. Enjoy your day. 🤍

Dit is altyd besonders om ’n paartjie se storie oor tyd te mag volg — om eers twee mense te fotografeer wat vir mekaar kies, en dan later die opgewondenheid van ’n klein mensie wat by hulle gesin gevoeg word. 🥹

Ek voel so bevoorreg dat ek ’n klein deel van hierdie mooi reis mag vasvang.

🤍 Wedding Tip #2 — Have your details ready.

Your wedding details — the shoes, jewellery, perfume, invitation, rings, cufflinks, watch and all those little pieces you chose so carefully — are part of your story too.

Have them together and ready when your photographer arrives. It means we can capture those beautiful little details without having to search for them while the morning is already busy.

And one more little tip: keep one area of your getting-ready room clear and tidy. It gives us a beautiful, uncluttered space for those intimate getting-ready photographs.

Wedding Tips 🤍

As part of my August Wedding Promotion, I wanted to share a few wedding tips and little things I’ve learned over the years — things that can make a real difference to how your wedding day feels. 🤍

I’ll be sharing one every few days throughout August, so stay tuned and make sure you don’t miss them.

Wedding Tip #1 — Leave room for your day to breathe.

Don’t pack your timeline from beginning to end. Leave a little breathing room between each part of the day.

Things rarely go exactly to plan — and that’s okay. Those extra few minutes give you space to slow down, take a breath and actually enjoy what’s happening.

And often, those quiet moments become some of the most beautiful photographs.
Your wedding day should be something you experience, not something you rush through. 🤍

She was an absolute natural in front of the camera, and made photographing her such a joy. ✨

A little glimpse into this indigo-inspired styled shoot — soft light, deep blues, quiet moments and a little bit of magic.

I wanted this gallery to feel almost like a still from a film; elegant, atmospheric and completely unhurried. 💙

August Wedding Series | The way I approach your wedding day 🤍

I like things calm.

I believe a wedding day should feel like something you get to experience, not something you have to rush through.

That’s why I help my couples plan a timeline that gives every part of the day the time it deserves — leaving room to breathe, to be present, and to actually savour it all.

On the day, I’ll give you direction when you need it, keep things moving when they need to move, and do my best to bring a calm presence when everything around you gets busy.

Because the day goes by far too quickly. I want you to remember how it felt — not just how it looked.

And perhaps my favourite part?
I’ve arrived at many weddings as a stranger, but left as a friend. 🤍
