Luminary Photography by Amy Hayton

Luminary Photography by Amy Hayton Inspired by marriage, motherhood and family, I absolutely love capturing your most precious moments.

There’s something timeless about natural light and quiet moments.

A simple studio session in Jeffreys Bay — soft shadows, calm energy, and portraits that feel more like paintings than photographs.

Save the date.

Because when love looks like this,
you clear your calendar.

City streets.
Wedding clothes.
A whole future ahead of them.

And this was the final frame from Ryan & Hanli’s engagement session.

Behind them you can actually see the rain moving in across the ocean.

We packed up the cameras, walked back to the cars… and just as we pulled out of the parking lot the rain started pouring.

Perfect timing. Perfect skies. And the most beautiful session with these two.

If these are just the sneak peeks, I can’t wait to share the full gallery.

The ring is on.
The date is set.
The countdown has begun.

There’s something sacred about this season —
not quite married,
but already certain.

One of the things I love most about photographing couples along this coastline is how wild and unpredictable it can be.

Ryan & Hanli arrived with wind sweeping through the dunes and dramatic clouds rolling in over the ocean — and somehow it turned into the most incredible backdrop for their engagement session.

Proof that sometimes the “not perfect” weather makes the best photographs.

Just a sneak peek for now… but I cannot wait to dive into the rest of this session.

The best couple sessions rarely go exactly as planned.

Shoes come off.
The tide rolls in.
Someone says “let’s run through the water.”

And suddenly it’s less about the photos
and more about the moment.

Those are always the ones that end up meaning the most.

Ryan & Hanli’s engagement session nearly didn’t happen like this.

It rained on and off all morning and the clouds were thick as we drove through to Sardinia Bay. We moved the shoot earlier, knowing the golden light we had hoped for probably wasn’t coming.

Wind, waves and a couple completely willing to get a little soaked to celebrate being engaged. And later the rain creaping in on us over the ocean with the most dramatic clouds... It was pouring with rain as we drove off.

These are just the first little sneak peeks… I can’t wait to dive into editing the rest of this session!

Barefoot in the waves.
Golden light on their skin.
Just the two of them and the ocean stretching wide.

Oyster Bay has a way of turning love stories into something cinematic.

Some couples choose a studio.
Some choose a field.

These two chose the edge of the ocean and the last light of the day.

Wind in her dress.
Salt in the air.
A whole life ahead of them.

Couple sessions should feel like you.

Not married yet…
just already celebrating like they are.

Save the date cake on city steps.
Wedding outfits, but no ceremony.
Just two people who couldn’t wait to tell the world.

August can’t come soon enough.

If this feels like your kind of love story, let’s photograph it!
