🎄✨ Christmas Magic with Daniel and Friends Fund ✨🎄

What an incredible day at Bugz Playpark for the end-of-year Christmas function! The children enjoyed the sweetest moments, from decorating the Christmas tree with homemade decorations to indulging in the cutest cupcakes and unwrapping thoughtful presents. The festive spirit was truly alive, and the weather couldn’t have been better! 🌟

A Different Kind of Perfect Photography was honored to capture these special memories and share in the joy of such a beautiful event. We can’t wait to spend another amazing year with this incredible family!

What began as a simple idea for a coffee table book has grown into the biggest annual fundraiser for Daniel and Friends. It all started when I shared photos of my children with my pediatrician, Professor Fourie. He suggested creating a book to raise awareness about children from all walks of life. Little did I know that this suggestion would lead to a lifelong friendship with Lianie from Daniel and Friends.

The three of us—Professor Fourie, Lianie, and I—embarked on a journey to create a coffee table book, not to evoke sadness but to show the strength, resilience, and joy of children, even during hospital stays. Just as I had shared photos of my own children while they were in the hospital, we wanted to show that hospital experiences aren’t always as gloomy as they seem.

Lianie and I became inseparable during the months it took to photograph thousands of images, from the tiniest babies to children with special needs at Tygerberg Hospital. It was an emotional rollercoaster, filled with moments of deep connection with both the children and their parents. Every image tells a story. I can recall many of their names and remember the lives they live with such courage.

The result was a priceless coffee table book, Touching the Heart, which does just that. Since its launch in 2016, it has grown into Daniel and Friends’ largest fundraiser, a cause I’m incredibly proud to support.

We invite you to join us for this year’s Gala Event on November 8, 2024, at the Eensgezind Function Venue for a fun-filled evening that supports a truly impactful cause.

Our Touching the Heart Gala is our biggest fundraiser event for the year.

Our Gala is happening 8 November. One month to go! The excitement is getting real. This will be a wonderful evening of experiences.

Money raised will go towards supporting our children and their families.

🌟 Help Cheryl Get the Wheelchair She Deserves 🌟

It’s not every day that I share something like this, but in my heart of hearts, I feel compelled to do so. I’ve had the privilege of meeting an extraordinary lady named Cheryl, and her energy is nothing short of contagious—her kind and beautiful smile lights up any room. Cheryl shares the same name as my mom, and that’s just one of the things I love about her.

Cheryl is a dear friend’s sister, and though we’ve only met a few times, she’s left a lasting impression. She’s an incredibly proud aunt and someone who never complains, at least not that I’ve ever heard. Despite the challenges she faces, Cheryl radiates positivity and grace.

But right now, she needs our help. Cheryl is in desperate need of a special new wheelchair that will improve her quality of life. Her story was recently featured in the TygerBurger, and I feel that together we can raise the funds to make this happen.

In Loving Memory of Victor Goosen

Today, my heart is heavy as I remember a very special young man, Victor Goosen. I had the incredible honor of meeting Victor during our work on the Touching the Heart Book. From the moment I met him, he captured my heart with his infectious smile, his boundless spirit, and his sharp mind.

Victor’s journey was one filled with extraordinary courage and an unbreakable will to live. Despite facing countless obstacles, he showed a strength that inspired everyone who crossed his path. His parents, Alida and Martin, embodied the true meaning of unconditional love, fighting tirelessly for Victor’s right to life, dignity, and the medical care he deserved.

Though he was only here for a short time, Victor made a lasting impact on all who knew him. He taught us that no battle is too big when it comes to love, that every life, no matter how challenged, is precious and worth fighting for. I will forever cherish the time I spent with him and the lessons he taught me—lessons of hope, resilience, and the power of a smile, even in the toughest of times.

Today, I join all of you in celebrating Victor’s life and in mourning his passing. I know his light will continue to shine brightly in our hearts, a beacon of hope and love. May you rest in peace, sweet Victor, and may your family find comfort in the memories of your beautiful life.
