Another gorgeous Matriculant stepping right onto the threshold of adulthood! 💫

It’s officially Matric Dance season in South Africa—that special pause in time right before the final exams take over, where our young adults get to dress to the nines, step into the spotlight, and own their moment.

Honestly, spending this time with these incredible young souls, their proud parents, and the entire cheer squad of family and friends is one of my absolute favorite parts of what I do. It’s the ultimate reminder that family is everything—and yes, it truly does take a whole village to raise a child!

Calling this a “job” feels like a lie. Getting to capture these memories is a total privilege. Every single time I wrap up a shoot, I walk away inspired, energized, and utterly blown away by the future standing right in front of my lens.

Dearest Nikola, I hope you soak in every single second of tonight! Laugh loud, dance off your shoes, and make memories that will last a lifetime. And a massive congratulations to your amazing parents for surviving—and thriving through—the last 18 years! You guys made it! 🎉

Matric farewells in South Africa are so much more than just a school event—they’re a true rite of passage. In a country that loves to celebrate every milestone with heart and soul, this is the big one. It’s the culmination of twelve years of hard work, a moment where students arrive like royalty in dream cars and stunning attire, and parents stand back with tears in their eyes, realizing their "little babies" are suddenly grown adults ready to take on the world. 🚗✨👗

So when I got the message right at the start of the year—"Tam, I am booking you now for Jnr's Matric Farewell"—my heart did a little happy dance! Getting to capture another major, unforgettable chapter for the incredible Christie Family is an absolute honor.

As a mom, these moments hit different. I know deep in my soul just how fast time flies and how priceless these memories are. Being trusted by friends to document their family’s journey, year after year, is a blessing and a privilege I will never take for granted. ❤️

To Jnr and Amber: You only get one Matric Farewell, and you both absolutely owned it! As the final countdown to the end of Grade 12 begins, my wish for you is that life remains as beautiful as the two of you are. Stay honest, stay humble, keep lifting each other up, and you will go so far. 🌟

And to the amazing parents—huge congratulations! You poured so much love into making this day unforgettable, but more importantly, into raising such remarkable, grounded young adults. I loved every second of spending the day with you all.

Wondering why our page has been so quiet...

Well we were blessed with a massive order. Remember that 25kg of Filament that arrived? The printing went smooth, in-between we had some other orders (Soooooo Grateful) and well we started working on this super order.

We are so excited to deliver in the morning. Ready, packed and looking good.

800 3D printed, Fidget Key rings, with customised stickers for the company and of course a hand applied resin coating. YES, you read that correctly. HAND APPLIED. Then assembled, then a key ring attached and then packed in individual bags, making it easy to hand out to customers.

With help coming from loved ones, this was a massive order. I do love stats, so 800 key rings is made up of the following parts;
Keyring 1 - 400 final units = 400 front parts, 400 back parts, 400 large gears, 400, medium gears, 400 small gears, and 800 custom made stickers, oh and 400 keyrings.
Keyring 2 - 400 final units = 400 front parts, 400 Back parts, 400 large gear, 400 Clickers and 800 Custom made stickers and 400 keyrings.

Hours of work, so much learned and most importantly, so so so grateful for the opportunity and work.

Enjoy the fruits of my Labour.

From Sketchbooks to Software: My Journey with Art 🎨

Let’s talk about AI.

I know the skepticism. We worry about jobs, the integrity of artists, and whether we’re losing our ability to think for ourselves. I hear those concerns, but for me, art has always been about the evolution of the medium.

My late mother was an incredibly talented soul. I remember sitting in the background of her art classes, watching her master the specific strokes of drawing. She eventually taught me her techniques, and that foundation is exactly why I see AI differently.

To me, AI is just another medium—like charcoal, watercolor, or oil. I use it to bring to life the things my mind sees but my hands might not have the time to sketch. I’ll never pass an AI-generated image off as "hand-painted," but I will share it as an inspired piece of artwork. It’s a collaboration between a memory, a vision, and a tool.

Case in point: I took this original photo of Albert & Linette and reimagined it as a Watercolor Inspired Painting. Elegant, simple, and timeless.
