There’s a big difference between SEEING a scene… and CREATING one.

www.jasonlanier.com/mini

Out here in the middle of nowhere, this image doesn’t just happen. You’ve got harsh sun, endless sand, flat tones, and nothing naturally “perfect” to work with. Most people would pack up, say the light is too hard, the location too empty, and wait for better conditions.

That’s the difference.

A photographer doesn’t wait.

A photographer builds.

In this shot, the story comes from contrast and control. Soft wardrobe against a harsh environment. Color against neutral tones. Directional light shaped instead of avoided. Every element—pose, styling, composition, light—is intentional. That’s not luck. That’s education, experience, and ex*****on.

This is exactly what I teach.

Not how to wait for perfect conditions—but how to create them.

If you’ve ever struggled with:

Shooting in bad light

Making boring locations look incredible

Directing your subject with confidence

Understanding how to truly use light instead of fear it

Then it’s time to level up.

My Mini Masterclasses are designed to give you real, practical, hands-on experience in a condensed format—because in today’s world, if you’re not growing, you’re getting left behind.

📍 Upcoming Locations:

Pensacola, FL – May 29th

Charlotte, NC – June 2nd

Knoxville, TN – June 5th

San Francisco, CA – June 26th

No fluff. No filler. Just real education that changes how you shoot.

Posting Paralysis Is Real… And It’s Brutal

Ever sit there staring at your screen wondering, “What in the world am I going to post today?”

Welcome to POSTING PARALYSIS!!!!!!!

It’s that daily mental grind of trying to figure out what to post and when to post it for maximum impact… you know, BEFORE the algorithm lets out its evil laugh and says, “Oh don’t worry… I’ll make sure nobody sees this anyway.” 😅

Sure, in theory, you can prep your posts the night before.
But then life happens.

You’ve been grinding all day, your brain is fried, and all you want to do is shut the laptop and fall into a good true crime documentary.

So you tell yourself, “I’ll wake up early and knock it out in the morning.”

Morning comes…
The pets need attention.
The family needs you.
Life starts life-ing immediately.

And suddenly you’re right back where you started… staring at your phone like it personally betrayed you.

“What am I even posting today???”

Some days, the answer is simple:
You just post what you can.

No overthinking. No perfection. No waiting for the “perfect” moment.

Because if you don’t?
It’ll sit in your head all day and drain your energy more than the post itself ever would.

I deal with this ALL the time. The only way I’ve found to beat it is to just hit post and move on.

Done is better than perfect. Every time. Don't OverTHINK it.

Here’s a throwback of the lovely Siray from a rain studio shoot a few years back—posted not because it’s perfectly timed… but because it’s real.

Do you struggle with posting paralysis too? Let me know below 👇
