Ive had so many last minute newborn booking messages/emails lately and while I would love to work with every single person who inquires, I just cant.

If youre expecting, I highly recommend booking in the 2nd trimester. While I can squeeze people in occasionally, I cant always and it breaks my heart to say I cant get them in for another 2+ weeks.

Lifestyle sessions are great for babies even up to 3 months so I do always have a spot for you but it may not be in the squishy, brand new newborn stage.

My summer is already crazy so definitely dont wait to book anything!

No but really, your outfits play a huge part in your pictures. I have a full client closet and am always available to help you plan and let you know if things go together or not so much.

Senior Sunday: When should you book your senior photos? 🎓

One of the most common questions I get is "When should I book?"

If you have a specific season or date in mind, the earlier the better. Booking now gives you the best chance of getting the date you want, especially if weekends work best for your family (they're limited!).

As for when to actually take your photos—that depends on the look you're hoping for.

☀️ June–July: Lush green landscapes and dainty wildflowers
🌻 August: Late summer warmth, golden evenings, sunflowers.
🍂 September–October: Fall colors and cooler temperatures

There's no right or wrong answer. The best time is the season that feels most like you.

The biggest mistake I see? Waiting until yearbook deadlines are around the corner. A little planning now means more flexibility, less stress, and more options later.

Choose the photographer who brings energy to your kids, who jokes with dad, tells mom she’s gorgeous, and just loves the real moments. The kind of photographer who laughs with your kids and sees them exactly as they are. The one who your family is comfortable being themselves with. Choose your photographer wisely, because they pause all of your moments for you to keep forever and you wouldn't want to feel uncomfortable looking back on them.
