The beautiful weather is finally here! This might be the first outdoor session so far this spring that didn't have to be rescheduled because of the low temps and rain. 🤣

Barrett had a busy day by the pool with his cousins, so by the time their session started, he was spent. He definitely wasn't in the mood for our antics, but we managed to get some gorgeous photos anyway! 🥰

Eliza's Beatrix Potter/Peter Rabbit theme was so sweet! We took a few shots before her cake smash in her custom made dress, and then she dove into the cake. Go big or go home! Now THAT is how you eat cake. 🎂

With the wacky weather this spring and my internet service being down more than it was up the past 10 days or so, it's been tough to carry on "business as usual". Hopefully after this weekend, the weather will make a permanent switch so that I don't have to reschedule any more outdoor sessions! You'll find me in the studio this long weekend with some new babies who decided to arrive a bit early.

My outdoor family sessions are always a mix of posed shots and more natural moments. Here is a perfect example!

Story time! When Jaxson's mom booked his cake smash session, she gave me a heads up that he has some stranger danger but should settle in after about 10 minutes. He didn't settle in, and we had to scrap his studio session despite all of my tricks and our efforts.

I wasn't going to give up without a fight, so his parents agreed to meet me another early morning at a park near their home to try some outdoor photos to salvage his first birthday session. Stranger danger babies always do better outside! I kept a distance with my zoom lens and stayed quiet while his big sister and mom and dad entertained and distracted him. Then we introduced the cake which ended his session fairly quickly. 🤣 But at least we got some smiles before the tears at the end!

If you know me, you know that I don't back down from a challenge, and I was going to make sure this family had some cute memories to keep. What wasn't so funny that day will be a funny story to tell when he's older. 😁

If you have a stranger danger baby and have hesitated booking a session, let's talk about doing it outdoors! It is much less stressful for them than coming into the studio.

2026 Seniors, it's not too late to book your session! I still have a few scheduled to shoot before graduation this spring. In 30 minutes, Brayden squeezed in 3 outfits at one of my favorite locations to give a good variety to his images. We can work fast when we're trying to outrun the weather!

I adore the simplicity of cake smashes. The focus is on your baby and capturing their true expressions at their pace. You can't rush these sessions, but I have everything set up and planned ahead of time so that I'm ready for just about anything. Xavier wasn't too sure about the cake at first. He was more interested in the balloons. I gave him a small spoon, and then he tore into that cake!

My goodness, trying to narrow down a few photos from the first half of Xavier's session was so difficult! His sweet little outfit has horseshoes all over, so of course we had to use my horse prop! I can't wait to share some of his cake smash photos! Check back tomorrow to see those. 🥰

Happy Mother’s Day! This past weekend, our family spent two days in New Wilmington, PA for my daughter’s BSN pinning ceremony and commencement. The weather was definitely not on our side, but the sun came out by the end of the indoor ceremony. We were able to grab some pictures outside. It’s pretty rare for all five of us to be in the same place at the same time anymore, so it was a very special weekend. ❤️
