I remember her first day of preschool like it was yesterday.

She wrapped her little arms around me and wouldn’t let go. The teachers finally had to gently peel her away while I stood there trying not to cry.

And now somehow... she’s graduated high school.

The tiny hand I used to hold now reaches for a future all her own. The little girl who needed me for everything is becoming a young woman ready to take on the world.

My heart is so proud, so grateful, and honestly, a little broken too.

If you’re a parent in the thick of the little years, the sleepless nights, the school drop-offs, the endless activities—hold on tight. One day you’ll blink, and they’ll be walking across a stage.

It’s starting to feel real now.

For so long, senior photos just felt like part of the job — another season, another milestone I was helping other families hold onto. I’ve photographed her friends, watched them grow up, smiled behind the camera… but somehow it still didn’t fully hit me.

And now her cap and gown are hanging in my closet. Quietly waiting.
A reminder that the countdown to my baby’s graduation is no longer somewhere in the distance. It’s here.

How did we get from tiny hands reaching for mine… to this?

To college visits and late-night talks about the future and a year that suddenly feels like it’s moving too fast to hold onto.

There’s this strange ache in motherhood where your heart can feel overwhelmingly proud and heartbreakingly nostalgic at the exact same time.

I keep looking at that tassel thinking… wasn’t she just little? 🤍

I remember the tears that filled my eyes the moment I heard they were expecting.

I’ve known her since kindergarten — my best friend’s little sister, always somewhere in the background of every milestone growing up. Childhood memories, graduations, laughter, heartbreak, becoming who we are… she was always there.

These are the moments that quietly change everything.
The tiny fingers. The sleepy sighs. The way two people look at their baby like they’re holding the entire world in their arms.🤍

This may have been the windiest session I’ve ever photographed in Historic Jamestowne and honestly… I loved every second of it. It kind of reminded me of Iceland wind.

This session was FUN — exactly how senior sessions should feel. I was so excited when I found out her boyfriend and mom were joining us, and then it got even better when her dad and grandma surprised her too. So much love, laughter, and cheering her on the entire evening.

And now somehow we’re only one month away from watching her walk across that stage. 🤍
Congratulations,

What a perfect day for a “yes.” 💍✨
Tucked into the gardens of the Governor’s Palace, this moment felt like something out of a story—quiet, joyful, and completely unforgettable.

Congratulations to these two 🤍 your love is so effortless and beautiful, and it was such an honor to capture the beginning of forever.

Photographing both of his sisters’ senior photos and now getting to capture his college graduation… this one meant a lot.

Full circle moments like this are everything.

Congratulations, Luke! 🎓✨

The sun was setting, the tide was low, and everything felt still.

A quiet kind of evening with a soft chill in the air and little gusts of wind moving through the grass.

Bald eagles soaring above us…
the sky turning pink…
and that peaceful pause right before the stars come out.

These are the moments I’ll always chase.
My favorite spot in Williamsburg & Jamestown… and nights like this that feel like a dream.

Reynisfjara Beach 🤍

The first time I went to Iceland in 2019, I remember this place so clearly.
After the tour buses left, it was just us. The entire beach to ourselves.

I laid down on the black sand and let myself be fully in the moment.
The sun was out. It was low tide. Peaceful. Still.
We stayed for hours.

In 2024, I returned for my third visit.
I could tell the landscape was changing — but it was still breathtaking.
The sun was rising behind the cliffs, snow falling softly, everything quiet.
It honestly felt like a dream.

While in Iceland this past week, I heard the news that the beach was gone.
That’s hard to believe… unless you know this beach.

It’s powerful. Unpredictable.
Like that scene in Frozen 2 where Elsa runs straight into the raging water — that’s Reynisfjara.

I’ve seen it peaceful.
I’ve seen it deadly.
And now, I’m reminded again why waiting for the “right time” isn’t promised.

Go now.
See the world.
Experience the moments — before they change.

This trip was different.
Not about checking boxes or chasing highlights.

It was about slowing down.
Wandering until a softly lit window of warm, freshly baked goodness caught our attention.
Hot lattes just to keep our hands warm.
Time measured only by church bells echoing through the streets.

No maps. No plans.
Just being present—getting to know Reykjavík in a quieter way, and spending unhurried time with my mom in this season of life.

We took in the Icelandic Symphony, a church service that left me quiet, reflective, and wanting to linger a little longer, northern lights that felt like a gift… and that clean, cold, impossibly pure Icelandic water I’ll never stop thinking about.

There may have been a little research for something I’ve been working on quietly—and I cannot wait to share when the time is right.

And this isn’t goodbye.
I’ll be back in a few months for more exploring, more adventures… and what’s coming next. 🤍

More soon. In the best way.
